My Friends:

We have a good thing going here at SHU, something that we need to continue to foster and grow.  As such, below are the rules of the forum, designed to provide stability and a safe enviroment for posters.  Failure to follow the below rules may be just reason to revoke your shareholdersunite user account with no questions asked.

  1. Respect - All members of this board (most every human being actually) deserve to be treated with respect at all times.  Personal attacks will absolutely not be tolerated.
  2. Identities - All identities on the board are considered private and are not to be shared outside of this forum without the consent of the individual.
  3. Whining - IOC is a long term stock investment that most definitely has risk.  On top of this, there are indications that the PPS is manipulated by the short interest.  As a result there will be delays, unexpected events and pps volatility.  Whining about these things serves no purpose and will not be tolerated.
  4. Disagreements - Inevitably there will be disagreements between posters.  Pointing out your side of the story is very acceptable and encouraged.  But it is possible that the disagreement will reach a stalemate - at which point the parties will have to agree to disagree and drop the matter.
  5. Stick to the Facts - This forum is not intended to be for the "pumpers" or the "bashers".  There will be both positive and negative events over the upcoming months and both are encouraged to be posted, discussed and dissected.
  6. Posting on Other Boards – Once you are a member of the SHU board, your posts on other boards are, in a small way, representing this forum. Please use respect and refrain from using the “Us vs Them Mentality”.

Thanx everyone for making this a valuable and fun community!

Health and Happiness,
hemi

HemiMoore,

Is immaturity and sophomoric humor and sarcasm  as well as posting of stoopid pics allowed??   I would hate to see Palm booted without a warning.

Dear SHU-ers,

After a couple of badly handled situations by yours truly (my sincere apology, it turns out, surprise surprise, not all former academics are management material) and after most helpful discussions with a few members, most notably Palm, the following additional rules will be implemented.

  1. You'll notice a "report" button at the bottom of each post. If you feel a particular post violates the rules in the first post of this thread, press it and it goes straightly to the moderators. They will rule on it, and notify the transgressor.
  2. Posters can accumulate up to TWO of these transgressions, on the third one, they will be removed from the board.

The process has been too arbitrary up til now and my 'live and let live" instincts are largely to blame for that. After a few very unfortunate incidents, we really can't continue on that basis.

A few more pointers with regards to this:

  • It really doesn't mean we'll stifle debate, even robust debate. In fact quite the contrary. It does mean we don't want to let it get personal, at least not on this board.
  • It also means that persons who felt the need to leave (much to my regret) are free to return at any moment, should they wish. Let it be a new beginning. Clean sheets.
  • May you all use that "report" button wisely.

STP

This a wise an much needed change. People need to understand that (as STP states) it isn't to be used unless necessary, but when used STP will take it seriously. No one is exempt from the rules that Hemi wisely crafted way back when. Please re-read those rules and agree to abide by them and we will hold each other accountable. With that understanding we should all be able to post and respond without fear of personal attack. All constructive views must be able to be expressed so that we are all better informed, educated, etc. For anyone newer to the board I would suggest spending time reading the great info STP has taken the time to put up elsewhere in SHU, reading info on IOCs website, MS and RJ analyst reports, etc. This is a high risk, speculative integrated energy company with potential for great upside, yet risk for loss. Keep informed and openly discuss what's going on and make your own conclusions based on your situation. If I didn't already say it, PLEASE READ AND UNDERSTAND THE RULES.
