Admin,

I wish I had a dollar for every time I've heard that someone is drying up the float. Regardless of your POV, shorts need to be respected. I don't appreciate their tactics, but they are some of the best in the world. They will not go quietly so IOC has to beat them to the punch. I suspect that will be T2 results with shorts trying to spin as negative.

A definitive monetization agreement with government support will be garlic to these short vampires, nothing less will do.

Respect?! The IOC shorts?? In the six years or so I've been following the story I've yet to come across a half decent argument, and that amongst an inordinate amount of waffle, spin and dirty tactics (including threatening and defaming your host).

I'm not saying the float is drying up (I have no way of knowing that), but I do know this, all it takes is another big investor to make life even more awkward for them.

If they're so well informed as people claim, they must know the odds of what's going to happen next..

I'm not applauding their tactics or their arguements. I'm simply saying shorts know how to move the pps when they have to. About the message board bunch you have been arguing with, I concur. in fact, I told you over four years ago you were wasting your intellect with that bunch. The yahoo bashers/shorts are the pimple on the elephants butt. There is an invisible hand at play here and has been for years. Tilson isn't it either. Perhaps someday we'll all know who it really is/was.

They have every incentive to make their arguments available to the largest amount of people, and have spared little effort hiring ex-cons and who knows what. If they weren't able to put forward a convincing case perhaps it was because there isn't one to make..

RE: InterOil short interest surprise - Libtardius Maximus - 07-13-2012

Okay, I agree. When you really think about it though, they knew who to hire, what to tell them and manipulate to provide a window for themselves. Pretty shrewd although I believe highly unethical. Plus, with PNG being half a world away, the pps can, has and will be manipulated in shorter and shorter windows. Trading days.

If my assumptions are accurate, expect some negative news that will take time to debunk. And by time, I mean one day only, perhaps a few hours is all that will be needed. That could be the signal that our time is at hand.

As a matter of fact, one of the IOC executives who graced the Spinnaker Lounge group, indicated such might be in the cards during a discussion of dealing with the shorts.

Don't put anything past the shorts or the option players. IOC stock has had at least one bad daily drop every option expiration weeks since Feb. Usually Monday or Tuesday of the option week, IOC has have a 4.5% drop or more in stock price with the average 5.5%.

The last day of the month has also not been kind to IOC stock either. For the 1st quarter IOC stock was down the last trading day of the month all three times with an average drop of 4%. That trend was broken in the second quarter with all three days up, yet the average daily performance for the final day of trading is down 1%.

The shorts are a ruthless bunch, usually well-funded, and more sophisticated, but they are not infallible. I have also seen them turn on a dime, cover and go long as they try to recover a loss from their short book. I don't understand their end game. I know I am biased, but the upside look far greater than the down side. Just ask any short who didn't cover in the $30's, they have now lost more since Oct. than they could have made if InterOil went to zero. With everything falling into place (finally) we could see a double again. I would not want to be short IOC.
