Very confusing and BIZARRE at this point.

Is is possible that IOC and their interests will be selling an amount of their share which, when added to the 22.5% the state already has rights to, will come to 50%, which the state will then hawk about.  This smacks of Shell participation in this part of the deal.

That would leave IOC and their interests with slightly less than 50%, which they could then do an EWC project as originally envisioned?

Agree Ken. Whoever this source is seems to not have IOC's best interests in mind. The story last week seems to have been prompted by a rumor that IOC has one major bidding based on CV's comment that there are "more than one" SM's bidding. Duping the press is a hobby in PNG. Could well hear nothing tomorrow.

What about the possibility that XOM is taking the 50% that they plan to process through their plant leaving IOC with the balance to partner with EWC?

A couple weeks back I asked Pet if he knew the ultimate capacity of XOM's pipeline to which he replied there were too many variables to figure out with the information currently available.  50% E/A would certainly seem doable. I think many of us on the board believe XOM and PNG both have a very real interest for at least some of E/A going to Port Moresby via that line.  Whether the balance goes to EWC or larger modular?  Anybody's guess in my mind.  Whatever plant gets built, it will be a candidate for gas from Triceratops or the fish fields.

BTW, is cesium formate the lube or the heavy in drilling mud?  Or both.  Just kinda wondered.

Cesium Formate is a 2.3 sg drilling fluid used in high pressure completion and in rare cases drilling.  It is so expensive that it is rented and sold only when lost.  Great stuff.  Environmentally friendly, low viscosity, and does not damage formations.  It was initially proposed by RDS Research out of the UK.  It is mostly used in the North Sea.

Mgt states article is a lot of Bull.A bidder is using Blair Price for their agenda. And Geez whats new. Any deal talk of any type for  IOC is actually positive for the stock. Like ni Hollywood star any publicity is good publicity.

Big surprise JFT. The only good thing is that what this "source" is doing is trying to drag down expectations and what he's done so far is create excitement. He's trying to keep a lid on this thing and no workie. This attention just gives credence to what we are hearing and when they go to management they are responding the right way. Say only what you are allowed to say. VC should be commended for how he is handling this, but he's also saying as much as he can. Smart of him.

Things must be close as far as NEC goes but bidding is likely continuing if this source says otherwise. Making it look like IOC has few choices and is almost being forced to selling a huge chunk (larger than what management has been saying) is ridiculous. Whoever this person is, he/she is a rookie.

RDS rumors is my bet. With an agenda.
