RE: Best Possible Scenario under the circumstances - Getitrt2 - 04-26-2013 O'Neill obviously is involved and has great influence, but he can only act in accordance with the laws and contracts, and has many common interests with IOC; and PNG is entitled to 22.5% out of the 90% you refer to as IOC's, David. Any further farm out BY IOC would further reduce that percentage, which I have said might occur and be a good move by IOC. In your terms I would say O'Neill and IOC are co-captains. What information do you have that "One of the bidders convinced the PNG gov't to push IOC to sell a serious chunk, presumably to guarantee gas supply for both a Gulf plant and for extra trains for Exxon", which I guess in that case would have to be Exxon? Something of that sort may be the kind of monetization the PRE SVP was referring to. I would also say that IOC and PRE are already "pushing the drilling". I agree we don't need Elk 3 results to complete the deals, but don't need them regardless of 237. RE: Best Possible Scenario under the circumstances - ArtM72 - 04-26-2013 I agree Elk 3 is not important to determining the resource volume, but it is a required production well and may have a greater condensate fraction which could help inform final design of the CSP.. |
