I am not certain that this is related at all to deal timing. Why would they cancel it if they have a deal in the works or nearing conclusion? That does not make so much sense to me unless IOC is going to get bought out before the conference, which I do not think.

Considering the fact that IOC has been tighter than a duck's behind when it comes to giving ANY details regarding the conversations with XOM, this is not surprising. What was Wayne going to say during the question and answer sessions other than, "I cannot comment on ongoing negotiations?" What does that accomplish? Better to wait until the deal is done and then they will have PLENTY to talk about. Just a WAG on my part.

A Conference hosted by Westlank would not be an appropriate venue for any BOD of IOC including Wayne to field questions that would be overwhelming post a major news release (as we are anticipating).
