i am am not a lawyer (although they are often the problem) but I was under the impression the company had a fiduciary responsibility to the "shrareholders" and not the employees with stock options.  I wish them well too but in the end the stockholders are to be taken care of in an ethical and responsible way.

Stock dividend is not the same as stock split.

The company has a fix for that they can issue options to make up for the lost share count of the Officers in a stock dividend
