Agree - the corruption in this department was high - Duma was never a friend of IOC - while he has come around under O'Neill IOC's future partnerships and deals will be easier without this guy.....O'Neill's support is clear for IOC - now the new Minister will follow O'Neill's wishes imo....its good to have O'Nell's own hand picked guy in. Very good....Mkt may take time to absorb this since Duma seemed to support IOC recently - but it will come around. I would not be shocked at $60 this week

It could be that "then" there was a sometimes adversarial, sometimes agreeable, relationship between Big Men at IOC and Big Men of PNG. Now, with the maturing of IOC's activities in PNG, bringing larger and more professional firms into the picture, such as Total and Woodside, a Duma is out of place. PNG needs a smooth operator as minister for petroleum, a more professional minister, to engage with the smooth operators of the companies now entering PNG.

"Here ...hear " Thy ! I'm wondering with this news if this might be a good time to increase'our stash' in ioc? What say you...any thoughts? Will Mr. Duma go quitely into the sunset? Best to you and yours.

If people will review what happened when O'Neill was elected, he originally had replaced Duma when he named his first cabinet. However, to have a more solid coalition, politicking got involved and O'Neill reversed his decision. It's taken this long to get to the point where this could be done.
