The more trains at a gulf LNG plant the more profitable it is. Why build two when you can build three. With that I do think that it makes the most sense to just expand png LNG with train 3,4,5 and have participation in that. Most economical and speediest.

Com[tion is good. It help keep Total and Exxon honest.

It all depends on time value of money and market assumptions on gas prices vs time and capacity constraints and time to build a new plant and it's cost vs simply expanding XOM Lng plant and gathering system among other factors.  The highest profit opportunity for all may be to keep expanding the XOM plant up to 8 trains if they can arrive at an agreement.  That path seems most capable of getting the most gas to market the fastest at the lowest cost.  They all know this and likely are evaluating (especially. XOM) the alternative scenarios.  XOM likely has the most to gain if they can't find other gas sources.  With each new discovery for IOC any deal with XOM will look less appealing.

Get a larger % ownership of Xo's trains 4 -8. Interesting Cyber & Kaloboo.

RE: Raymond James March 14th - Palm - 03-17-2014

If one reads all of O'Neill's official statements from December on you will see his urgency to maximize cash flow in the quickest ways. We can talk about what IOC/Total want and what XOM/OSH wants, but whoever can convince Oneill and the NEC that their way maximizes treasury receipts the quickest will get the advantage. Gulf will likely get a plant but the expectations are that there is enough gas fir that and the PNG LNG expansion. There are many reasons that expanding PNG LNG is the best for PNG as a country. They have people there, infrastructure, and a planned corridor for industry between PM and the PNG LNG site. There is a ton of development going on in that area and sites for petrochemical, etc that the government knows must be built to support ag and other needed domestic industries for PNG to thrive when the gas and oil is on the wane.

RE: Raymond James March 14th - Putncalls - 03-17-2014

I would like to point out that the XOM pipeline is already near capacity when it feeds two XOM tains. If XOM will not step up to the pump and give IOC share holders 200$/share screw em. Long live Total.

RE: Raymond James March 14th - Palm - 03-17-2014

So you don't expand because of the cost of a pipeline? Wow, doesn't seem like the rest of the world has let the cost of a pipeline halt progress. Sounds like an opportunity to me, not a barrier. Maybe one of the sharks from Shark Tank needs to be called. Hey Mark Cuban, we have gas, a thirsty market, but we need a pipeline. Mark says, "Just one?"

RE: Raymond James March 14th - jft310 - 03-17-2014

One scenario is close the Total deal. Then sit down and see what can be done quickest with LNG participation for Interoil. We need a Conference Call.

RE: Raymond James March 14th - Putncalls - 03-17-2014

Can the Hyde gas justify another pipeline for XOM?

RE: Raymond James March 14th - Putncalls - 03-17-2014

Another 300 KM pipeline I should add.

RE: Raymond James March 14th - Palm - 03-17-2014

You're preaching to the choir here Puts. I say the government and all players know that should things prove as we expect with the drilling, a pipeline from EA or points south is a drop in the bucket.
