No, it confirms they can't drill A3 AND delineate Triceratops AND build condensate stripping AND build liquifaction facilities without funding. The camp and roadways are already built for A3 activity, making this a much less expensive well to drill than A2. They have temporarily walked from TTops (with government approval) so that is not draining significant cash in the near future. What they CAN'T do (no doubt) is build a CSP or LNG plant without additional funding. Let's not forget too that the only reason why the refinery didn't make money last quarter was because of a writedown of crude inventory because of the reduction in market crude prices. Last I checked we haven't seen a subsequent additional $20/bbl price drop. Unless I'm missing something, the spudding of A3 means nothing other than IOC continues to execute on its plan to further reduce the risk associated to getting its E/A gas to market. Nothing more. Nothing less. RE: Antelope-3 spud , this week end - sltibbs - 09-29-2012 ArtM72, I am merely citing the most recent 10-Q which says "The Company believes that it has sufficient funds for the Midstream Refinery and Downstream operations; however, existing cash balances and ongoing cash generated from these operations will not be sufficient to facilitate further necessary development of the Elk and Antelope fields, appraisal of Triceratops field, condensate stripping and liquefaction facilities." IOC says they don't have funds to develop E/A. So if they are spudding, means to me that they have received some cash or a promise that is a as good as cash. My first guess is a refinery loan. My last guess is a stock offering and in between guesses are PRE money or a SD signed or ? Best, Sam RE: Antelope-3 spud , this week end - jft310 - 09-29-2012 Sam If PRE were NEC approved then IOC gets a slug of cash. That money is to drill Triceratops wells we all know but could be used temporarily to drill A-3 I guess. Maybe not. IOC wants to drill 2 wells by November or at least spud them. Not sure they have to actually drill them for the PNG govt requirement It might be to just spud. A-3 should be quick though and very lucrative NG wise. RE: Antelope-3 spud , this week end - Getitrt2 - 09-29-2012 Sam and jft, see my 10:10 am Eastern above on p. 2. To get the next $96 million from PRE, IOC also has to complete the joint venture agreement with them. That money is NOT just to drill Triceratops wells, but is toward payment for their net 10% of the gas, and can be used by IOC for any purpose, I'm pretty sure. The November requirement is just for spudding. RE: Antelope-3 spud , this week end - jft310 - 09-29-2012 Getit I am getting older and forgot that fact so thanks for reminding us that IOC would have use of the Triceratops sell down money with PNG govt approval and ratification of the deal. |
