What is important is that they have reached the top of the reservoir 2200 feet above the known gas/water contact. The marl is just a marker they expected to find right above the carbonate. They found the marl as expected and proceeded to drill with increasing carbonate content in the drilling cuttings. Now they say they have reached the top of the reservoir.
