My friends,
Is it wrong that I am following this election closer than I followed the Canadian election last year? Perhaps that is one of the top 10 signs that I have an IOC problem.
Top 10 signs you have an IOC problem:
1 - You know the names of the PNG MP's running for reelection, but don't know the name of your own constituent.
2 - When going on vacation you spend more $$$ to get internet access than you spend on hotel rooms, just so you can check the IOC stock price.
3 - You are going to name your first born son Phil.
4 - When meeting someone for the first time, you discover their name is Eric, and you need to be restrained.
5 - Your birthday present to your significant other is the Nontechnical Guide to Petroleum Geology, Exploration, Drilling, and Production.
6 - You fly 3000+ miles and take 2 days off work so you can drink VO's and speak IOC for 18 consecutive hours at the Spinnaker Lounge.
7 - You refuse to refuel your car at Shell stations.
8 - You listen to IOC CC calls to help you fall asleep.
9 - You call Wayne more often than your parents.
10 - You have contacted IOC to set up wedding plans at Ant #1, so they can flare the well after it is pronounced "You are now man and wife".
11 - Your kids hero's aren't sports athletes, musicians or movie stars, but a man named PetEngineer
Hmmm, 8 out of 11, not bad......no way I have a problem.

The really dangerous sign is:
12 - I'm leveraged to the hilt.
1-11 is ok compared to 12, be really careful with that..

13) When meeting new people and asked your name, you say Tom Crooz (or whatever your IOC message board name is) and realize it and hour later.
14) The first thing you do in the morning is not pee but check SHU for any overnight news

I don't see the problem, Hemi. These all seem perfectly normal to me. Are you saying there is something not quite normal with these? Have to keep this short. My dog, Collin, is needing to go out. He's an Australian shepherd.

Yea, Orlando, let's put this into the proper perspective. I think compared to the IOC problem the shorts have, these problems seem quite manageable..

17. You actually know what the terms LNG, porosity, permeability, NG liquids, CSG and dolomite mean
18. You understand the election process of PNG, who the GG is and the difference between the issuance and return of writs
19. In the end you realize that PNG level of corruption in politics is high, but at the same stage in our history (or most countries' histories) it was probably not much different and it's still rampant today
20. You know the geography AND geology of PNG much better than your own back yard
21. You know the condition of Michael Somare's heart much better than your own
22. You realize that in a very short period of time the Treasury of PNG will probably be in better shape than those of the U.S, Europe and Japan because OUR politicians are much better at lying about what's "good" for our countries, because they have been doing it much longer. PNG is just getting started and being "guided" by the experienced ones.
