InterOil Short Interest - Gator - 07-25-2012
The mid-month July 2012 short interest has been released. From the settlement dates June 29 to July 13, the InterOil short was up slightly to 8,591,972. The volume and trading range during that ten day period was light and tight with average volume around 381,000 shares a day and the range within 2 points (up and down) from the June 26 start price of $70.61 until the $68.84 closing price on July 10. This reporting period did include the July 4 mid-week holiday, which explains the light volume. With this lower volume, the reported average daily volume has dropped to 330,574 shares a day. InterOil now shows 25.99 days to cover the short, the highest days to cover figure in the past 52 weeks. IOC ranks 36 on the NYSE of highest days to cover.

It's kind of ironic isn't it. I think Shell lit the match today.
