PNG Govt wants to extend length of time of no confidence vote - Palm - 10-04-2012 Evidently PNG coalition when planning the new government felt that the 18-month period after an election was not long enough as far as calling for a vote of no confidence. They discussed increasing it to 24 months so that a government can get more done with major disruption. I think this is a good step as PNG tends to go very short periods actually trying to accomplish anything, then is in constant upheaval as leaders come and go. This request has been handed to the AG and others responsible for drafting this type of legislation. Will be worth keeping an eye on.
