We Should be so Lucky to get EWC - Tree - 11-14-2012 Lamenting the prospect of EWC in our project and 'the market's' reaction to EWC and how their inclusion in Gulf LNG would affect ST pps is such a waste of time. Save that paranoia for YaHoo. I will be PO'd if EWC isn't in Gulf LNG. If you want the highest return on your IOC shares, you want EWC. EWC guarantees the most profit for you, partners and PNG. That is why they were chosen initially and why they are still in the mix. IOC's goal is to sell the minimal % of PRL15 assets to accomplish construction and exploration obligations. EWC allows that. The resource is worth many times more as LNG in a few years than present forward value today. Finding and selling resource is how small players get rich. Buying what others find is how SMs grow and get rich. Finding and developing your own resource in an LNG project is impossible unless you are a Major. Until Gulf LNG, that is. Gulf LNG will never be included in an article like this if EWC is in place. It's called a pardigm shift and the LNG world needs one.

More budget blow-outs expected at eastern Australian LNG projects: analyst (Platts) - 13Nov2012
Further cost blow-outs are being tipped for the three eastern Australia coalseam gas-to-LNG projects, all of which are already over budget, following news of a $3.3 billion increase in capital spending at the ExxonMobil-led Papua New Guinea LNG project.
"Further upward cost revisions seem highly likely on all those projects following this announcement [about the PNG LNG blow-out]," Hong Kong-based Bernstein Research analyst Neil Beveridge said in a note Tuesday. RE: We Should be so Lucky to get EWC - TxPm - 11-14-2012 Tree, I think as long as a SM is involved alongside EWC the ST pps will react fine & there will be higher LT pps appreciation. My only fear is if For some reason the SD is delayed any longer. Right now we need the SD. SD solidifies IOC resources, gives them plenty of cash on hand, & solidifies relationship with PNG & DPE. This will negate 90% of the short thesis & will increase pps way more in the short/medium term then the details surrounding the PA & whether or not EWC is/isn't involved RE: We Should be so Lucky to get EWC - Tree - 11-14-2012 I wonder if the Pope considered it a delay while Michaelangelo painted from his back for a few years?? Remember, IOC has never been keen on selling a stake just to accomplish a sale. You make multiple times the $ by producing and selling it your self. Might well be true that, the only thing delayed is the maximum cash-flow #s, and even those can be brought forward a couple of years with the optimum scheme. RE: We Should be so Lucky to get EWC - TxPm - 11-15-2012 Comparing the "delays" on Sistine Chapel to Gulf LNG seems a little far fetched but that's ok. All I'm saying is had a SM already been brought in we be on our way to developing the project by now. If Mgmt is so keen on using EWC & developing their own assets I'm ok with that but that takes $$$ and lots of it. We have other proven assets (Triceratops) that the govt has not asked for a SM to be brought in on. Why not just complete the SD, develop the project and use the funds from the SD to develop Triceratops and on that project we can use EWC of FLNG. We are clearly sitting on a ton of resources across our leases and with plenty of cash on hand and govt support we will have plenty of opportunity to use EWC/Flex in the future RE: We Should be so Lucky to get EWC - Tree - 11-15-2012 C'mon. Let's channel EWC. They make PNG, IOC and us the most $. Let Michaelangelo do his thing. His last stroke is near. RE: We Should be so Lucky to get EWC - jft310 - 11-15-2012 Party Hardy tonight RE: We Should be so Lucky to get EWC - Getitrt2 - 11-15-2012 CFO Collin Visaggio, 11/9/2012: On the views of the super-majors involved in bids for an operating stake of the project so far, Visaggio said they were “positive” on the recent progress. “InterOil anticipates concluding a sale of interest in the first 3.8 mtpa Gulf LNG train, and proportionate interest in the Elk and Antelope resource in petroleum retention licence 15, to a partner or partners. “There are major oil companies, national oil companies, and global utilities involved in the strategic asset selldown in the proposed Gulf LNG project.” C.V.,11/7/2012: “Once we receive approvals of the project from the National Executive Council [Cabinet] we will move swiftly to conclude arrangements,” Visaggio said. I know no reason to doubt the word of CFO Visaggio. If EWC is involved in more than power plants, it almost certainly has the support and involvement of one or more new major partners in E/A also, not just the old project with EWC. Guys, does it sound like we're getting the latter after what Visaggio says and working with the IBs and bidders all this time? Are we waiting for IOC, or mostly for the PNG government? Who is more likely to be taking longer than they should? I understand the frustration, I share it, so does management, but... |
