IOC Stock Price Playbook through Friday... - johnwgrant - 01-16-2013

Friday being Options Expiration, it is such a surprise to see the stock price pegged at $60/share. (sarcasm intended)

This will cause a bunch of call options to expire worthless.

It also implies that the Options Market Maker KNOWS that no news will come out to interfere with their 'manipulation'.   (BTW, if the SEC's rules have no penalties, they are just suggestions !).

Just another day at the office for the Goldman Sach's of our stock market . . .  Sad

Max pain for Jan options is 65 so if it's just up to the MM's pps should end the week there.

I think Max Pain fails to account for this:

The Market Maker is selling calls to the retail,

The Market Maker and the "pros" own the puts.

My conclusion is: they have more incentive to make calls expire worthless, and maximize the value of their puts. Just my theory !!!

Seems the playbook is being executed to perfection this morning . . .

Live with it or dont own stocks. I despise the free reign of the criminals running the WS show. But truth is truth, they are running the show. At some point if IOC can execute the PPS will go higher. But manipulation of stocks and computer programming that algoritmically calculates the best methodology to control prices based on historical patterns and current data will only get worse on WS. Retail is gone, most floor traders are gone. Its legalized stealing now. With controversial companies its most evident.

I dont expect it to change. A reasonable deal will surely help IOC PPS. But my guess is the Manipulation will just begin again at higher price. Actual earnings will help, but not make it go away. I posit AAPL as an example, if you watched it over the past weeks the manipulation is clear as day.
