Time to put AG on ignore?! - ltinvest - 04-09-2013 Like the paid bashers over on YahZoo, I believe it is time for everyone to put AG on "ignore." After reading his recent submisions, I feel like I have wasted a few minutes of my life. Although some of the comments, especially by Indoreservoir, have proven quite enlightening. It is truly a shame Seeking Alpha would even let something this guy submits see the light of day. Clearly in this internet world there is no fact checking or test for veracity.
On the other hand, conversations I've had with the company and other institutional shareholders keep my confidence level high. I believe IOC has been in extended dicussions with 2 bidders after February 28th. The last 10-20% of details is the most difficult and time consuming. PM O'Neill has paved the way for the Gulf LNG to happen and all bidders were pre approved by the govt. The 2009 project agreement will soon be replaced by the "Gas Agreement" by IOC and its' partner(s). RE: Time to put AG on ignore?! - admin - 04-10-2013

In defence of SA, the editors can't be knowledgeable on the compies that contributors write about (let alone all of them) so it's near impossible to weed out crap, unless it contains easily identified misrepresentations and these are brought to their attention. Since IOC cannot comment much, there unfortunately is a wide margin that can be used, or even abused here. I think the use or flush mantra is appropriate here, although I agree with you that Indoreservoir in the comments has provided good stuff that's well worth a read. I don't think AG believes even half the stuff he writes (comparing IOC to Bre-X, etc....), he's either thriving on the page views (boosted by the controversy), or he has the wrong friends. I don't think he has much, if any influence over the price. I personally don't even read him anymore, he's got nothing to teach me, at least not with respect to IOC, I feel.
RE: Time to put AG on ignore?! - ltinvest - 04-10-2013 That's an understatement to say he has nothing to teach you about IOC! I've really been unable to detect any useful knowledge he has about IOC whatsoever. I'm disappointed in SA that they would allow this drivel to have their name attached to it multiple times in a matter of a couple weeks. I realize they can't scrub every article about every company or have enough useful knowledge to do so....but I would at least become suspicious if I was in there shoes. Of course, with 50+ comments at the end of each article and the number page views, we might be incenting both AG and SA to keep publishing this rubbish. Thus my original thought of placing him on ignore. I'll just stick to Tree's version in the future....much more entertaining! RE: Time to put AG on ignore?! - trans - 04-10-2013 It, this is just like most of wall street, its all about money. They know (SA) good and well what the deal is. That's why I refuse to sign up and give them my email address RE: Time to put AG on ignore?! - tarulestheday - 04-10-2013 I have confirmation that AG works for and with Tilson. Tilson is not even good with DD for his chosen lackey bashers. Truly pathetic. RE: Time to put AG on ignore?! - Palm - 04-10-2013

We're safe if that's his "mentor"! And that makes a lot of sense based on what and how he posts. Once that is widely known we'll be able to get Icahn on our side. Hoho |
