Opposition slams Govt’s dealings
**********
HoHo to RDS! Back door no more! Sounds like the front door may have been barred. RE: Opposition not Cool with Petromin sacking - 'What about Shell?' - jft310 - 04-11-2013 They want more homes in Port Douglas??Not from IOC! RE: Opposition not Cool with Petromin sacking - 'What about Shell?' - Palm - 04-11-2013 Funny; I think Japan and Thailand are fine with it. Seems the only ones who are upset are the ones who didn't want to do things correctly and instead wanted to operate by their own rules. We'll now see who PNG's real partners are. Bet XOM will be fine with it. RE: Opposition not Cool with Petromin sacking - 'What about Shell?' - ebster123 - 04-11-2013 Let RDS put in a buyout for $450 plus now or $850 plus in two years and we call it a day .....time will tell

Botten's comments the other day implied PNG LNG may be fed from E/A with a deal with PNG Gov't's share of gas. That's a win for PNG LNG, Gov't and IOC as that would put a force field up around IOC as far as a take-over. Opposition is now getting vocal over the Petromin delete and articles accusing O'Neill of power grabs are surfacing. If Shell wants to play the victim card with 'unjust' treatment by O'Neill. Maybe O'Neill will have the opportunity to discuss that JAPEX/MOU with Petromin, the subsequent Shell/Petromin MOU and the final JAPEX/Petromin MOU and PZ if some industrious report asks questions in an interview coming our way. They want explanations, then we may hear more of the story. RE: Opposition not Cool with Petromin sacking - 'What about Shell?' - jft310 - 04-11-2013 How about enforcement of the corruption act?? Shell has many problems on PNG the attempted bribe and their worldwide envronmental record. They never seem to learn, keep paying fines for bribes and environmental damage. Who wants that?? I suppose certain persons on PNG would like a slice of that $100 million odds of that are dim. RE: Opposition not Cool with Petromin sacking - 'What about Shell?' - Palm - 04-11-2013 We also have to remember that The Opposition is only about 8 strong. They have lost quite a few members and in fact Arun, who is the finance guy who has been put in charge of Petromin as the acting MD, is a former Opposition member. So they will squawk some, but they are little more than nothing in the political scene these days. By far the majority of people politically support O'Neill and the huge coalition majority because they are making changes for the better and bringing long overdue funding to local projects and programs. They will go a long way with him in these changes. The Opposition is getting bulldozed. |
