Merger Announcement Monday???
The thought I've had today is simple. Usually with "confidentiality" provisions of a contract, parties are not allowed to "confirm" a story like today's reporting of a partnership between Shell and IOC. Neither party would be permitted to confirm the story - although both would be at liberty to "deny" the story. Also, isn't Shell the one that has been accused of shorting IOC in the past? If there were no legs to the story, and Shell was a short, then a simple press release from Shell that said, "Not true," would have crushed IOC today.
Most mergers are announced on Mondays. Could there be an formal announcement or confirmation coming on Monday? I don't know. But, I believe "longs" will sleep better this weekend then "shorts."
Disclosure: I'm long 3000 shares, and am hoping for more good news soon. I have been disappointed with the stocks performance these past few weeks, but as an attorney, I also understand why the silence, and the time it truly takes. The "advisement" that was given on February 28th, that 30 to 60 days would be needed is not unreasonable given the nature of the contractual agreement being finalized.
That's my 2 cents worth. Hoping for a follow up on Monday. Go IOC.

What a stupid post. We should leave Yahoo garbage on Yahoo.
IOC will be obligated to announce, and they will announce, all material development announcements as they are legally obligated. News Flash! IOC doesn't run around 'denying' BullHsit as that would be their only job since there is so much of it.
Shell the same way. Looks like that article was planted and likely planted by someone not friendly to IOC.

Here's an even better idea we should use this logic to our advantage.
Let's float 1-A-Day rumors all next week. If IOC 'denies' any rumor we check off that bidder.
If IOC makes no denials - then all bidders are our partners! And maybe according to legal beagle experts IOC will be forced to 'no comment' and not issue a denial, on the the winner and then we know for sure who that winner is.
Mon- TOTAL is tipped to become Gulf LNG partner
Tue- XO is tipped to become Gulf LNG partner
Wed- CVX is tipped to become Gulf LNG partner
Thur- JKM is tipped to become Gulf LNG partner
Fri- PTT is tipped to become Gulf LNG partner
Geez, we should have done this months ago.

My Friends:
We have a good thing going here at SHU, something that we need to continue to foster and grow. As such, below are the rules of the forum, designed to provide stability and a safe enviroment for posters. Failure to follow the below rules may be just reason to revoke your shareholdersunite user account with no questions asked.
-
Respect - All members of this board (most every human being actually) deserve to be treated with respect at all times. Personal attacks will absolutely not be tolerated.
-
Identities - All identities on the board are considered private and are not to be shared outside of this forum without the consent of the individual.
-
Whining - IOC is a long term stock investment that most definitely has risk. On top of this, there are indications that the PPS is manipulated by the short interest. As a result there will be delays, unexpected events and pps volatility. Whining about these things serves no purpose and will not be tolerated.
-
Disagreements - Inevitably there will be disagreements between posters. Pointing out your side of the story is very acceptable and encouraged. But it is possible that the disagreement will reach a stalemate - at which point the parties will have to agree to disagree and drop the matter.
-
Stick to the Facts - This forum is not intended to be for the "pumpers" or the "bashers". There will be both positive and negative events over the upcoming months and both are encouraged to be posted, discussed and dissected.
-
Posting on Other Boards – Once you are a member of the SHU board, your posts on other boards are, in a small way, representing this forum. Please use respect and refrain from using the “Us vs Them Mentality”.
Thanx everyone for making this a valuable and fun community!
Health and Happiness,

I hear you, Petro, and so does everybody else, by the way..
I hate to disappoint you, but I'll probably going to miss a few more chances..
In the meantime, contemplate this picture (see attachment), which character do you think most accurately conveys the (distinctly dubious) experience of being admin?
RE: Legal opinion on rumors????????? - jft310 - 04-14-2013
In my opinion only there should be multiple administrators like a Board of Directors all with one vote. Have an odd number of members to prevent ties. I think a committee of one vote is an impossible job and don't think STP should feel like the only cat out there. Share the decisons then its a committee decision. Appears lately some feel a greater burden than others and thats not what I thought was the original idea was about. In the beginning we had a committee decison system and I think we should go back to that idea. STP needs some fellow cats to keep away the dogs. All in my opinion.
And I for one think all ideas are welcome unless we know they deliberately distort facts like Yahoo's Bonk does. He's not welcome. If one is not happy with SHU well bring it up and it should be considered. All groups need modest rules and if someone breaks them they can lose their posting priveleges seems to make sense.
To me all this means is we are close to resolution of the monetization and this length of time has frustrated the heck outta some persons.

It has been said the best and most efficient form of government is a benevolent dictatorship. OK with me here at SHU
