Inference from PRE comments - CAC - 04-18-2013

The other thread related to this topic mostly addresses the positive comments by PRE as it relates to the size and quality of the asset...and rightly so...but I'd like the Board's opinion regarding my inference as it pertains to the ongoing negotiations.

The quote from PRE is below. Does this sound like he's talking about a battle by majors to just become a minority owner and operator of Elk? PRE has no interest in Elk, right? They have 10% in Triceratops so, if he's expecting to "tagalong", doesn't that mean he thinks the beauty contest pertains to a complete buyout (or at least a deal involving Triceratops too)?  We don't know the basis for Lugo's conclusion, but if we take it at face value, he couldn't have gotten to that conclusion if he thought the deal was just a partial sell-down of E/A, right?

-----------

"We understand that there is some sort of a beauty contest now between the majors to acquire those positions and we have a tagalong. So we will be able to make a new rapid cash on that property."

RE: Inference from PRE comments - Palm - 04-18-2013

Jario is referring to the whole license area as far as the tagalong. PRE was added to IOC's 237 license and PRE has labeled TRI as a discovery and 4 other prospects within 237. So he seems to be referring to all of 237, which could mean the majors are getting to point of considering the whole enchelada and PRE could get a quick return on its cash.

Lots of scenarios. Whats wrong with example Exxon getting some dry NG, Total partnering for Triceratops with PRE and Shell partnering for 236/238 and JKM doing 15. Just dreaming

CAC I think you hit the nail in the head. People are complaining about the time it's taken. People need to remember great things come to those who wait. Anyone who believes this is a simple SD for PRL15 I believe is in for a pleasant surprise

Goal is for IOC to remain as independent entity. More value for shareholders in the drilling/development of that 'Rolodex of Reefs'. Phil, Henry, Civelli and a few of the other decision makers own a large chunk of stock, 30%? They will either be paid today for the value they believe is there or they will will take on the SMs as partners and co-develop with them to realize the value. Since LNG is like marriage and there is a 'beauty contest' that implies each SM is competing to be the IOC chosen 'spouse' or partner. It's not all about $ it is also about % interest retained, control forward and full development timeline. Take-over is all about bidding high enough to have the bid accepted. Money trumps beauty. The only beauty competition there is how many zeroes are behind the first number. My take is IOC/PRE with JVOAs accepted by Gov't for Tri/237 are planning on remaining in the project and their aggressive exploration plans are no doubt outlined in the JVOA so all funding and logistical issues have been addressed.

Goal is to maximize SH value and if a buyout does that, it'll happen. We have heard more than once from management that they are not sure IOC will survive this process. PRE is very close to all of these discussions and they seem to be getting the feel that a buyout well could happen. The JVOAs had to get done as one must continue to plan and work as if things will continue; that's part of building value. Most companies plan to survive but Cove didn't and there has been a lot of talk about consolidation on the industry. IOC and even PRE are prime buyout candidates with both being successful independents.

Won't be long till we know.

And with all this great news the stock is skyrocketing.  Not many buyers even trying to front run the announcement.  And no, it;'s not expiration week nonsense this time.  We have a lack of buyers with conviction no matter how much we believe.  Things are looking great except the stock price.

Why is that do you think ellerslick?

Seems like the classic big-time buying opportunity.

I have my theory, what's yours?

The markets are a Random Walk . Not ones knows short term where stocks will go.Theory of Warren Buffett. He says do the work figure out what the business is worth and turn off the computer for 10 years. Those that stay invested in Interoil will own stock in a Super Major with a nice dividend.
The facts are these assets will be monetized and can't be complained to go up. I have seen stocks go down on good news only to later even 30 days later soar. Patience is tough. Hang in there for the payday. If you are lucky enough to be in IOC for 5 years you are up at least 340%. No one stated this was a get rich quick stock.
More facts the longer the wait the higher the move upward. Who can see the IOC cup and handle on the charts?? The longer the handle the more spring we will have upwards.

I thought at this point the buyers would run over the manipulators.  In the rest of my portfolio I pay attention to price and especially volume.  IOC is a whole different bird so I have no clue.  More and more I believe we will wake up and it will be done vs the leaks lead to a volume and price creep.  We are all in a good spot no matter how it plays out.  I just used the last of my dry powder so loaded for bear or should I say bull.
