No word from RDS yet and Duma said to have not looked happy with O'Neil's announcement. I would wager that the fat lady has not been heard singing yet!!!! BTW, in my dictionary F A T spelt backwards is R D S....Time will tell!!

No need for hostile takeover attempts as there is room for all in the deal. XOM has feed-stock deal, possible further LNG development with IOC, but the first gas from E/A is going to PNG LNG. We may still get another SD in PRL15 and TOT would look good in PPL237. And then there is 236. Teaming with XOM is like tubing with Pamela A in the wake of a big boat on a choppy day.

Who would want Shell stock in a buyout?? Not me!! Shell has lots of issues and many of them a reputable firm would want no part of.
If you were IOC and knew Shell was shorting your stock would you cut a deal with then at a reduced price???? LOL..
But money does speak and my feelings about them are mine but I bet at least one large IOC shareholder hates Shell like I do.Think Phil M.and I bet their are others.

JFT, I do not dispute your stance, in fact for the most part I share it, however this is business. I ind it really hard to believe RDS is going to just pack up their brief cases and go home....

Ebster-Thank GOD the persons who own IOC those Top Ten have a bigger vision for IOC. Here's the problem. You get a buy out of IOC at say $300 and take it. Make some money cool. IOC will trade at $200 without a buy out!!! Where can you put that money and make it $600 or more in less than 5 years??? If left in IOC after monetization of E/A and with more drilling off the seismics IOC can easily be $600 a share . In the US ,10 T's with production and cash flow is a $30 Billion market cap company. IOC will have cash flow in two years in an agreement with Exxon. They get the NG and IOC ALL yes ALL the condensates. Geez who told you that before. .
Today IOC has 10T's not all theirs we agree but IOC can drill Triceratops and if Dave Holland is right have 10 T's it controls for its shareholders . IOC current market cap $4.5 Billion. Do the math divide $30 Billion market cap by $4.5 Billion maybe 6 fold increase. IOC is what $100 a share and with more assets and production can grow into a $600 stock. Needs a few more wells and production in 2 years.
That's what they see and that's why theres no way they will sell today. Who thinks the mutual fund holders will not be happy with a more than 100% rise in IOC in 1 year?????
