What the heck? Classic case of hearing bits and pieces - Palm - 07-05-2013 You can tell there is a lot of buzz going on about the IOC and Exxon deal. Poorly written article makes you think of the telephone game. By the time "news" gets to the end it has a little truth and a lot of confusion. Will be good to get the details out once they strike the deal.
"Map out LNG project area, govt told
Source:
The National, Friday July 5th, 2013
A LANDOWNER association from Gulf has called on the Government to clearly map out the development of the second liquefied natural gas project.
In a statement yesterday, the chairman of Meii village, Kris Metelm, said the Government, through the Department of Petroleum and Energy and the project owners Inter Oil and its major partners ExxonMobil, should come out clearly and map their partway to developing the much talked about second LNG project.
“They have participated in the cash crop counting; the social mapping and conducted Land Investigation t covering historical sites report and high technology testing, which has caused damage to the land of the Meii Area,” Metelm said.
“We are now very concerned that Etelop Oil and gas heads of the Gulf LNG might be connected and piped through the established pipeline to the Napanapa refinery and the proposed Meii Bluff site may be shelved,” he said. (Etelope Oil?!!)
He said Gulf was a least developed province and the LNG project would spark drastic changes in the province.
He said he would like to see the three Gulf MPs, Governor Havilla Kavo, Kerema Open MP Richard Medani and Kikori MP Mark Maipakai to raise the people’s concern in Parliament to have the LNG remain in Gulf.
He said rather than allowing ExxonMobil and Oil Search to have a monopoly of the LNG projects, it would be better to allow one or more international competitor into the market in PNG and bring in the best in partnership deal with InterOil to develop the Gulf LNG project."
RE: What the heck? Classic case of hearing bits and pieces - Stavros - 07-05-2013 Mr. Kris Metelm, representing the Meii Village, is spot on in his comments. Total truth and no confusion whatsoever. He wants IOC + ExxonMobil to come out clearly and map their pathway to developing the much talked about second LNG Project ... so de we He wants a Gulf LNG Project ... so does IOC. He wants to see a second partner brought on board for the Gulf LNG Project ... bring on the bidding. He wants to see new jobs in the Gulf Province as a result of the Gulf LNG Project ... great idea. The writer contracted Elk/ Antelope into Etelope ... BRILLAINT !! RE: What the heck? Classic case of hearing bits and pieces - ebster123 - 07-05-2013 Could "Etelope Oil" be Phil's new job?? RE: What the heck? Classic case of hearing bits and pieces - Palm - 07-05-2013 Could be Ebster. There are rumors he is looking at another venture in PNG. I still think there's a chance he tries to team up with EWC in things they are doing. This article just shows that there's a lot of interest and talk about what will be contained in the final agreements between IOC and Exxon. Lots of speculation that ends up being pretty cloudy because little official is being released. Point is it will all be detailed and those affected LOs have already been identified. RE: What the heck? Classic case of hearing bits and pieces - jft310 - 07-05-2013 In my opinion . Go back and read the original Press Release. It specifically addresses the idea of a second LNG project in addition to the Exxon LNG deal IOC has the right to pursue another partner as well as independently pursue their own LNG project and that project most likely happens and would be at Gulf.It been said IOC has specific plans detailing what they want to do at Gulf. One thing we know is that EWC is FID ready at Gulf.Could Mitsui be in the loop??? Could OSH and Tot pair up and go a Gulf deal?? Most likely I see EWC as a grand possibility.Start with one module and build to 2 million tons.Cash flow from four module is $600 million a year. RE: What the heck? Classic case of hearing bits and pieces - vidon - 07-06-2013 While at the AGM 2 directors told me the new CEO had been selected. This was a clear statement, not wishy/washy. Both indicated this man was highly regarded in the oil and gas industry. I expect his name and credentials will be announced in the next week or two Ae experienced CEO can hit the ground running and his actions will clarify a lot of the confusion in a short period of time. Please notice I did not say soo............ |
