Australian on Hession/IOC - Tree - 07-13-2013
The appointment of Mr Hession, who was the executive in charge of the controversial Browse LNG project that Woodside has now decided not to build onshore near Broome, comes as Interoil holds talks with Exxon Mobil to develop onshore gas fields in Papua New Guinea. InterOil, which is a $US3 billion company, is bringing in the big company experience of Mr Hession, a former BP employee with Irish and Australian citizenship, to advance its attempts to work out a deal to develop the big Elk and Antelope fields in PNG. Exxon has said the gas fields could be used to expand the $US19bn PNG LNG plant it is constructing with Oil Search and Santos as minority partners. In a message to Exxon that InterOil is not locked into a deal with them, Mr Hession flagged that negotiations on the fields would not tie them to the under-construction project.
RE: Australian on Hession/IOC - Petro2458 - 07-13-2013 This is extremely important...complete the sell down and create a new joint venture (preferably where XOM operates e/a but we retain control over the exploration timing...as you do not want to get caught up in XOM's global capital prioritization process). Then we work toward FID of LNG project(s). RE: Australian on Hession/IOC - calaban48 - 07-13-2013

As if Hession is going to send messages to Exxon through the press while they are in serious negotiations. The message is in fact to the public that there in now enough gas for "multi-train" development able to underpin the additional PNG LNG train, and/or a seperate LNG facility based just on the current certified resource. So as they start poking more holes he's saying that the reality is they could supply more trains for PNG LNG and/or build the minimum or larger LNG facility in Gulf. My guess is he didn't come aboard expecting to just have a couple of trains which will be developed. In his mind "multi-trains" is more than just 2 IMHO. RE: Australian on Hession/IOC - Palm - 07-13-2013 Also, you may want to check out the photo on the IOC website showing Hession and Byker shaking hands. Look at the map in the background where they show PRL 15 and the requested PRL for Tri/Bwata. That requested PRL shows a very large expected resource.
