Friend or enemy? - Gator - 07-17-2013

Citi published a report on the Australian Oil and Gas companies.

This report and the imbedded link to their June 2013 report which caused some angst seem to be where Resourcearb derived his info as far as EA being slated for Train 4 at PNG LNG rather than Train 3. I agree with others in not being sold that EA would be slated for Train 4 and that any agreements with XOM are "months" away as well as FID. Citi is making some interesting assumptions which lead one to ask the question you have Gator.

Just to be clear, I'm exceedingly confident that the gas from Elk/Antelope will be used to supply PNG LNG train 3 for the reasons discussed in the following article, http://seekingalpha.com/article/1385261-the-p-nyang-paradox-and-why-exxon-needs-interoil-s-gas.  I anticipate we will have complete clarity on this issue very shortly.

In your SA article you make this statement: "Assuming 2.5 Tcf of gas is ultimately discovered in the P'nyang field, it would only supply an additional PNG LNG train for 12 years."  I've always wondered if rapid takeoff either jeapordizes the total recoverable gas, the total recoverable condensate, neither or both?  Or does it depend upon too many local variables to make any such statement?  TIA
