I called my friend in the investment business to ask about why IOC is rising so much today!  He told me that IOC was supposed to present at a large energy investment conference in Texas shortly and just pulled out so the news is hitting the wires.  He said this was probably a sign of deal news shortly!

I am sorry no he said that a company called Westlake has a big investor conference in October and on the newswires it said that Interoil just withdrew from presenting.  He thought that is a sign of a deal and the stock seems to agree!

Arthur, heard something similar earlier today as well.

BTW Westlake has analyst coverage of IOC

IOC are still listed at the minute so would be good to get confirmation they have pulled out.

Arthur, I have heard that the company pulled out of 2 conferences, an LNG conference in Australia this week and the Westlake conference in 10 days.  This is unprecedented for InterOil and is typical of companies that are in the midst of finalizing significant transactions.  I concur that it's a very positive sign a deal is close.

We are no longer presenting at the Westlake Conference that was Oct 7-8.
