new MW report - chenlica - 11-02-2013

new report: http://d.muddywatersresearch.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/MW_NQ_11012013.pdf

Clearly lying again. the report cited the case of ZTE, said they already developed their own security app called "Mi-Assistant"(掌心管家) so they deny there has been a partnership with NQ because this is unneccessary.

From what I researched, that security app Mi-Assistant was developed with technologies from NQ, and is technologically support by NQ. see the Chinese news report: http://cn.nq.com/news/content/content.html?pid=142

RE: new MW report - kshen - 11-02-2013

We already covered that ZTE v961 has it preinstalled. And that ZTE's security software is in cooperation with NQ. This is getting aggrivating that they can tell blatant lies and get away with it

RE: new MW report - chenlica - 11-02-2013

i believe when the independent investigatin report come out this would ends all the smoke.

RE: new MW report - Mountainbiker - 11-02-2013

Yes, I read that article too.Clearly stated that with the help of NQ, ZTE is in the anti-virus business.

RE: new MW report - tradestar2012 - 11-02-2013

Thats all MW has? Its just a rehash of prior arguments and is focused on the immaterial issues. The reality is, cash is in the bank. Literally.

NQ Mobile: Partnerships in China and FL Mobile

I just wanted to provide a quick clarification of a new short post that claims that ZTE, Huawei, and Lenovo are denying a pre-installation cooperation, etc. As expected, there continues to be the re-hashing of old, already addressed news.

1) Regarding our partnerships with our Handset Makers and OEMs, this has already been addressed. We've answered this. The allegations are false. We have strong support and work together with these companies. In fact, one of the stories referenced from money.163.com in the article was removed for being false earlier this week.

In fact, here is a link to an article referencing our relationship: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-10-31/muddy-waters-attack-forces-nq-mobile-ceo-khan-to-fight-tarnish.html

2) The FL Mobile iOS issue was also already addressed. We've answered this. Here are the details and in fact we've already launched Pocket Dream on iOS in China a couple days ago as we announced.

---------------------------------

One of FL Mobile game channels were disrupted and pulled from the Apple's App store in China on Sunday, Oct 27th. Only a limited number of games were impacted including Gods and Dragons with all other channels under normal operations. FL Mobile is already working closely with Apple to reinstate those channels and dismiss the allegations made in the report. FL Mobile anticipates minimal disruption. Furthermore, FL Mobile has also received approval for Pocket Dream that has come available today.

The following is the press release regarding the Pocket Dream announcement:

RE: new MW report - kshen - 11-02-2013

My thoughts for next week Muddy Water's new 'report' sparked a big sell off timed to be on Friday as many day traders dump the stock before the week ends. Omar Khan looked extremely tired but did a decent job on Bloomberg. Although I feel he could have gotten into the details a bit more, I will cut him some slack since the accusations are so blatantly false and idiotic its almost hard to respond to them seriously and accurately. Also, its hard to remember every little detail that was released by the company such as the top 5 provinces and their top 3 'customers'

Technicals (Less effective in this case but some good signs): The stock is currently bouncing between the 23.6% and 38.2% Retracement levels. After days of solid gains, we witnessed a pullback today which filled the gaps. 12.50 was tested and held multiple times this afternoon and we have built some good intra-day support around the 23.6% retracement. Another hopeful sign is that we held way above the 200 day sma. Next week we need to show some strong momentum to rally past the 38.2% retracement level which is around $14.95.

I believe we would need a catalyst in order to move past the 15$ mark, hopefully a timely SA release on Toro's part three will do a great job in covering NQ's market share issues and resolve anxiety for the less informed investors. One thing that has me really perplexed is why Muddy Water still tries to proclaim NQ has no relationship with ZTE. This is so easy to check and was an issue we killed to death when Goldbaum released this earlier in the week. Especially since the original accusation essay was pulled off line

clearly they are sticking to their policy of muddy the water, no matter it is right or wrong. just throw everything to the average investors because they have nothing to lose really.

Omar is their U.S HQ CEO is not responsible for sales in mainland China. I won't be surprised if he cannot recall that 5 Chinese provinces. These information are documented and put online for everyone to read. What's the point to deliberately ask this question? To test CEO's memory? Failure to answer proves that their business is entirely fraud??

These people don't understand Omar's role as being a CEO for the U.S headquater, his responsibility based on a global and international vision. They don't even understand NQ's business structure and models. Questions like "Top 3 customers" makes no sense if you don't associate it with a specific products or services. For mobile security the customer is every end users and it makes no sense trying to define who are the top 3. Partners and SPs are not customers by definition! I think Omar tried to address this perception mistake during the interview but was rudely cut off by the lady. Omar was trying to explain with examples in their enterprise customers but that's not "top 3 customers" for the entire company. Their mobile security, gaming, enterprise and advertising are all seperated sources of revenue. If i were to be asked such a question I would tell her directly that your question makes no sense and shows your lack of knowledge on our business, that you need to be more specific on which part of our revenue. Omar is being a bit polite.

RE: new MW report - admin - 11-02-2013

The fact that the journalist asked a few awkward questions isn't necessarily an indication of foul play by the network (Bloomberg). It's a very complex story, and she has to manage multiple items, at most, it's sloppy work by the research team.

They did give Block quite a bit of air time, but then again, I suppose that's good for ratings.

What I'm saying is that the truth is out there, but don't expect a Bloomberg TV show to go too deeply into it. That's frustrating, yes, but I have little doubt that this will be settled rather conclusively when the independent report is out and PWC give them a clean bill of health on their Q3 earnings.

Until then, appearances seem to matter more than reality, I'm afraid.

i can't agree more with you on that. Only a 3rd party reputable independent investigation could close this case, neither NQ nor MW could defeat the other by simply showing evidences. There will always be questions on the crebility of things presented.

That's why NQ forms an independent special committe immediately after the attack. Very important and smart way to handle the situation! I have full faith in them.
