NQ Mobile™ Completes Transfer of Term Deposits to its Account at Standard Chartered Bank; Account Stands at Approximately RMB 628 Million (USD $103 Million)


EIJING and DALLAS, Nov. 6, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- NQ Mobile Inc. (NQ) ("NQ Mobile" or the "Company"Wink, a leading global provider of mobile Internet services, has upheld its commitment to transfer cash funds to the Company's account at Standard Chartered Bank (the "Standard Chartered Account"Wink. The Company now has a cash balance of approximately RMB 628 million (approximately USD $103 million) in the Standard Chartered Account.

The Company also maintains its existing account with Standard Chartered Bank and HSBC in Hong Kong where the proceeds of the recent convertible bond offering, totaling approximately USD $166 million, will continue to reside.  Additionally, the Company maintains numerous operating bank accounts with cash throughout its organization for day-to-day operating needs.

As previously disclosed, a complete update on the Company's balance sheet will be provided in NQ Mobile's regular Q3 earnings release, including the impact of forfeited accrued interest income resulting from the transfer of term deposits from Industrial Bank Co. Ltd and Bank of Jiangsu.

One question though. it states 166M from recent bond offering. Wasn't it 172M?

There was this guy on SA who claimed to know their cash management better than NQ itself and argued that a fast growing company could not have all its cash in L2, it wasn't prudent and an "invitation" to MW's accusations.

He should read the sentence above..

Usually, underwriters take their fees, so what's left over is the amount they have.

I never doubted NQ on this issue; that's why I stayed long.  The only issue is how long it will take for the market to overcome the fear MW has created.

I think we also got a quote somewhere that states something along these lines  PWC's policy is that if the cash is less than 10% of the total they will usually lump it together in one bucket as opposed to seperating them out. ie lvl 1 vs lvl 2
