PNG's proposed second LNG project remains an enigma - cybersssss - 01-15-2014
PNG's proposed second LNG project remains an enigma RE: PNG's proposed second LNG project remains an enigma - jft310 - 01-15-2014 Which short fund fed lots of misinformation to this journalist. Whatever nonsense they can come up with its priced in today. For the stock price to recover and it will Hession needs PNG govt written approval and a closed minority buy out, Next week looks good for govt approval per Duma. Then an announced minority which triggers a closing with Total and a receipt of $613 million. IOC has 4 rigs under their control to drill ahead and that speaks buckets about what they know and this reporter didn't bother to ask. anyone think it's option expiration week. RE: PNG's proposed second LNG project remains an enigma - cybersssss - 01-15-2014 Agreed that there is a lot of misinformation in this article....few things I note: 1) The lack of cooperation between Total and IOC regarding the press release is mentioned 2) The continued mistrust/lack of clarity that IOC has in the realm of public relations - Many thought that this would end once a deal with a supermajor deal was completed. Clearly it has not. This is disappointing. I again think this is a major failure on the part of Wayne Andrews and all the more need for a professional PR company to come in and take over. It seems to me that Wantok´s mission in life has been to spread FUD over Interoil´s prospects. I am surprised that the IPI issue was omitted. No professional PR company will change that writer´s bias. katytrader RE: PNG's proposed second LNG project remains an enigma - cybersssss - 01-16-2014 Well....Oil Search is the cat's meow according to this writer. Perhaps a local PR company should be hired, if their is sucha thing. IOC has done so much for PNG and are good corporate citizens. Why all the negative press? It is not just Wantok. It is Blair Price, Alsion Middleton, Liam Fox, etc, etc, etc, You see the pattern here? RE: PNG's proposed second LNG project remains an enigma - Palm - 01-16-2014 Journalists write about what they are fed. I think we and the general readership knows to put little stock in these articles any more unless they contain actual discussions with named individuals. This article is little different from things which get posted here, on Yazoo, on SA, etc etc etc. O'Neill has stated several times that the media in PNG needs to be more responsible. In fact yesterday his administration requested that a gag order be placed on the media in the ridiculous Namah attempt to have O'Neill and others arrested. The court has thrown out these arrest warrants and stated that if necessary, they will put a gag order in place. RE: PNG's proposed second LNG project remains an enigma - Palm - 01-16-2014 I also think we need to be careful saying/thinking that next week looks good for government approval. Duma has stated that the 20th is a planned Development Forum which does not mean an approval will come out of it. NEC/Parliament, DPE are the ones who will approve any project with input from a Development Forum. We may or may not have an approval this month, but several things need to happen first. Yes, journalists do write about what they are fed, often about subjects they understand poorly. I think Cybers has it right. IOC needs to be feeding the journalists. RE: PNG's proposed second LNG project remains an enigma - Getitrt2 - 01-16-2014 I'd like to know where he's getting the idea that FEED would cost $1 billion. That may be the biggest piece of misinformation in the article. I also do not believe it's going to "take two years or more" to get to FID. RE: PNG's proposed second LNG project remains an enigma - jdeo1969 - 01-16-2014 "One of the reasons the market may have felt a sense of uncertainty, and the continuing enigma of InterOil, was that despite the world scale size and scope of the joint venture agreement, the two parties failed to put out a joint statement of commitment and intent on their proposed LNG project." This is one of the few items in this piece that I agree with. We all know the announcement was botched and we can all speculate as to why. The CEO is on a plane when the deal is leaked, etc, etc, etc. They were clearly aught off guard and should have been better prepared. That being said, they have a tremendous opportunity to unbotch that part of things when the deal closes and both parties can talk to the market at length, explain the deal, refute misconceptions about Total's release. I for one am very much looking forward to that day. Good luck longs |
