I hope no IPI deal this week - Tree - 01-29-2014

Has everyone noticed how the snakes  on the JV message board are inciting some 'moderate' retailers to freak point over a looming IPI announcement that better happen this week as Hession PROMISED it would or Hession becomes Phil reincarnated?

So, at issue, is whether the IPI deal is announced this week or after this week??  Seems like snakes would hissss about 'IF' the IPI ever gets settled, not, if it is announced this week or not.

Who cares anyways what day the nnouncement comes?  It doesn't matter.    This is a checked box business and the IPI box is one of the last 2 boxes.  It doesn't matter what day it's checked, only that it does get checked.  Is anyone arguing that this IPI box won't be checked?  NOPE.

My bet is the pps gets hammered more with the IPI announcement when that comes,  than if Hession doesn't announce the IPI deal is done this week.

I can hear it already:  "the IPI deal SUCKS and IOC got taken to the cleaners AGAIN!!!!!!   Blah, blah, blah."

See the snakes have no snake food until we do get the IPI anouncement, then they tell us it sucks, and sadly some of us will wring hands and believe it's true.

I guess the question at this point becomes, "Is it going to take InterOil another four years to negotiate a deal with the IPI?"

One would have thought the IPI issue would have been resolved before they announced the deal with Total; after all, they do own 25% of the E/A discoveries.

Instead, we get a somewhat giddy CEO tell us it will be wrapped up before year end, no wait, let's make it January just in case.

So once again, the cart is before the horse and investors are left wondering how and when this company will move forward.

Perhaps the deal is done and they have just not announced it. That seems a rather cruel trick.

At a minimum, Hession needs to update shareholders either through a press release or conference call.

You work for us Mr. Hession and we want to know what is going on.

Just need your GPS coordinates sfiaes and maybe a drone can drop off a snake bite kit.

Tree, not a snake just a realist. For many, the appreciation on pps since they bought would have done better with a dividend stock paying a 3% dividend over the past 4 years instead of holding IOC. I am still holding but the time value of money here stinks. That is a fact for most of us. I am not in at a cost average of $10. Maybe you are and if so you were lucky. I don't need a snake bite kit but I also don't need Koolaid, I want appreciation of my investment. I thought that was what we were all here for??

No need to send the snake bite kit Tree, I have the antidote.

Just sell your holdings down to point where it no longer concerns you enough to comment.

Can't wait till you get to that point.

Fixating on IPI timing is futile.  Appreciation will come.  We've all had ample trading opps, some taken, some missed.  We've always been a multi-year investment and thank GOD Hession inked TOT to a SPA and now we need the cooperation of IPI partners that will cooperate because it is in their best interest to cooperate.

Besides, we need some license renewals and for those we need a TOT deal inked, and IPI guys won't risk screwing up the licenses.

At low 50's IOC is vulnerable to takeover <90$ and that is the fact.  Ya think RDS would get into a bidding war or they'd prefer to invest in the takeover victor's LNG project?  No one needs IOC involvement in developing PRL15, 236, 236 or 238.   The buzzards will be circling IOC until we drill, hit, re certify.

Anybody long IOC is snakebit thylacine-2, don't kid yourself.

Wouldn't it be nice to hear from Hession regarding the IPI deal? As informative as Kenny and Tree have been, I'm ready to hear it from the horse's mouth.
