He bought 40k more this week - 20 on tuesday and 20 today. These are massive open market buys!

Any speculators care to speculate? At a minimum it is a big vote if confidence.. perhaps more.

It is so, so very rare in my experience to see a CEO buy shares of his own company at market price. It is a mark of either lunacy or real confidence. Given this tech startup has no debt and generally makes money tells me it is unlikely the former and more likely the latter.

Yes, this one got punished too hard. It takes time to build a business, especially for a small company with constrained resources, many investors don't have patience for that.

They are busy tailoring different Clipstream products to different clients with different needs, it simply takes time, but I'm not at all worried.

It's another of those cases where the business and investor time frames are not congruent, but this will change.

Shares are down 10% today because an officer (Kumagai) sold the whopping amount of 5100 shares on May 12 for the grand total of $4800. So he needed a bit of cash, it's part of his pay package. Before you run to any conclusion, you might want to consult the bigger picture which shows officers have been net buyers this year (of over 100K shares) and also remember that officers sell stock for various reasons, but usually buy for only one..

CEO also bought another 25k today in the low 80s.

Well, somebody seems to have taken notice of this situation, brisk buying this morning, shares up 15%.

50k more for Steve on Friday plus a 100k private placement to directors .

For a company that has been so quiet the execs are sure putting quite a bit of money in.

Wonder if those two things are related.

Well, many people abandoned this because Clipstream hasn't taken over streaming video by storm. However, many don't realize that:

  • The margins on both MPE and Clipstream are very high
  • Online video is growing at double (if not at triple) digit rate
  • It only takes a fraction of this market to make a meaningful impact on the top, and due to the margins, especially the bottom line.

Yes, things are moving slow, this is a small company without much resources and they had to tailor the product to the wishes of different constituencies, but we'll see a turn-around in their fortunes before the year is out.

Well, all that CEO buying has yet to produce some results, although without it the stock would perhaps be quite a bit lower. Any ideas what is going to move this upwards?
