Interesting pattern of IOC trading here is very similar to the low or very close made on 4/10/13. In this period, the 50 day sma was moving higher and the 200 day sma was moving virtually sideways. On 4/10 ioc price dipped below both those sma's and made a low at 70.20, only to see price rise above 80+ on 4/24, two weeks later. fwiw, the fastest short term indicator to turn up off a bottom in ioc is "slow stochastics". Using daily data, this indicator is at a low extreme and high odds favor a turn higher soon, perhaps quite soon. Once this indicator turns higher, the other short termers should follow, such as macd, dmi. Also this IOC decline has not seen daily OBV (on balance volume) decline much, and is basically holding quite high. I like that because it seems to be verifying my comments above. This decline should be getting "long in the tooth" imo

One last thing. the trading today is getting close to reversal potential. Why doesn't someone ring up our buddy Tom Crooze and see if he is watching for a "Croozian Reversal"?

Petrovale, your welcome. One thing I haven't noticed before but in the last week picked up on it.....is the 1200 to 1800 share almost instantaneous burst of 100 shares orders to put ioc lower. The last group were from 12:10;14 to 12:10:18 and consisted of 1200 shares in 14 trades. Tell me there aren't computer critters screwing with this stock. This occurs periodically during the day.

I would say in large part shorts buying it to cover before any drilling report or the Q1 report. It is amazing, to me at least, how much they've been able to cover in recent months while keeping the stock under control, which is extremely disappointing and frustrating, with the Company having ceded the battlefield to them so far to operate with impunity.

With some very big players at the IOC table you have to figure they are happily trading and may even rue the day when drilling results and FID are announced with the company's value becomes far more apparent.
But in the meantime I suspect their algorithms are doing very well and it is a boat they care not to rock.
