On the bright side - jdeo1969 - 10-08-2014

The CEO has given us all another opportunity to scoop up shares at a bargain rate given that we believe in the resource.  Don't get me wrong, I am as frustrated as the next shareholder that the stock is at 49, but adding here seems like an absolute no brainer if you have the means.

RE: On the bright side - Putncalls - 10-08-2014

October stock market gyrations, falling oil prices, ISIS, Putin, and slowing China isn't all MH's fault. I still think Raptor sounds good! It has the reservoir, THE CAP from hell has been penetrated and there are signs of dolomite in the reservoir. If Raptor is good I would guess that the GLJ estimate is good also?

As far as the arbitration goes: What the heck is the bone going to be?

RE: On the bright side - IOCHUHU - 10-08-2014

I suggest you guys blaming all of the decline in stock price on Hession to compare IOC to say XOP (SPDR S&P OIL & Gas E&P ETF) over the last 3 months IOC -19% XOP -21%.  YTD IOC -5% XOP -8%

Excellent point IOHUHU

RE: On the bright side - Palm - 10-08-2014

Sure but IOC is not a company invested in to track its industry index. The reason we are tracking the XOP is that there is nothing coming out of the company to differentiate it from its peer universe. As I have stated to several people, I'm good with LT prospects of the company; just expected much more out of PPS since signing the deal. From Jan 1 I think most expected more than tracking the index. Aren't there O&G companies far outperforming the index YTD? Of course and those are companies executing the plans they laid out. That's what's been expected of this new superstar management team. A team that has yet to buy shares of the company they run.

Bullseye Palm.  That's the whole point.

RE: On the bright side - cybersssss - 10-08-2014

Agreed Palm and Sam. Stock performance is abysmal as is the apparent lack of performance on the part of Hession and company. This is a "tranformational" year for IOC and the only thing that has transformed is the stock price has been slammed in a 1 year time frame by -30%. If you want to compare that to the XOP which is essentially -6% for the year.

If you want to look at a 2 year period, IOC is down -38% and the XOP is up +17%. Even more exciting is looking at this within a 4 year time frame where IOC is -27% and the XOP is up +44%.

All in all, I invest in higher risks stocks like IOC to OUTperform the sector indices. IOC has grossly underperformed. Especially under the command of Dr. Hession. Under Dr. Hession's watch from his start in the summer of 2013, IOC is down - 40% vs XOP which is +3%.

WOW!

Cyber it's all about perspective, go back 6 years, then go back 15 years.

If Managment does not buy shares in its own company showing good faith in it why should anyone else?  Possibly they can not because they are tightly holding on to material information but I have a hard time imagining that such information could remain capped for this long and not reach the marketplace...time will tell
