Help: Sprint / NQ Live Reviews
#1

Hey everyone,

After reading goldbaum's latest "insightful" article on somebody's review of NQ "Sprint" Live, I decided to put together a nice rebuttal.

I am in the process of putting some reviews together and would greatly appreciate it any of you could send me links of some more positive reviews for NQ Live. Also, I would like give credit for any information that you provide, so you can either give me your real name, or an anonymous name if you would like.

Have a wonderful day!

Justin

Seems like a moot point. There's always going to be some people who are going to like a certain model phone while others do not. No company is going to make a phone that pleases everyone. The important factor for investors is how much revenue can NQ Live eventually generate.

My guess is that it's probably premature to judge NQ Live since it's brand new to the scene and at such an early stage in its roll out. Even mgt has emphasized that what's currently being showcased is just a taste of what's to come. What appears certain is that it's a product that carriers, advertisers and content developers will find extremely appealing, and so there'll will be a lot of forces at work to make it a success as time goes by.

NQ Live

HTC One M8 Harman/Kardon Edition (Sprint)If Clari-fi and LiveStage didn't offer up enough musical goodness, Sprint is upping the ante with the NQ Live wallpaper. Comprised of a collage of album covers, NQ Live looks rather innocuous on the surface. However the yellow tab and the dog-ear animation at the top left of the display shows there's more than meets the eye -- or ear.

Tapping the tab reveals Sprint's ID Song feature and music recommendations from Sprint Music Plus. The ID Song was fairly quick, taking 2-3 seconds to correctly identify Stephanie Mills' "(You're Puttin'Wink A Rush on Me" and give us a link to purchase the track for $1.29.

Swiping down on the dog ear launches a page with music-focused content including a link to Spotify, news, top songs from Sprint Music Plus and FM radio from the Next Radio app. Music lovers can also purchase ringtones and ringbacks, or use the ID a Song feature to quickly name an unfamiliar tune using Shazam or Soundtracking.

We like the ease and accessibility of NQ Live, particularly that it lets us quickly launch Spotify or name an unfamiliar song. However, it would be nice if we weren't tethered to Sprint Music Plus to make our song purchases.

Why do ppl use Shazam, which does not support voice humming to identify a song like Music Radar?

Thanks Justin, nice to have something to offer balance to Goldbaum's hachet job.  The negative NQ Live review they sited missed the point of the HTC offering, as it is specifically targeting the audiophile or music enthusiast, not the general user base.

Hopefully Sprint will have a wide variety of offerings in the near future.  Imagine easily customizable choices for sports/fashion/news/investing/games/movies/travel etc...

Not sure if it's a little bit late, but here's another review from MobileTechReview on Youtube.
