Hession didn't say there was no gas. He didn't say anything new about hydrocarbon composition they found.
He didn't say anything about the kind of rock found other than the Orubadi. Seems to me there are a number of different kinds of rocks that can contain gas.
He didn't say anything about water.
What he did do immediately was abandon the well. ..and quickly! They must have had concrete all mixed and ready to fill the hole as soon as they hit TD,
