Volume Thin - Where have all the shorts gone?
#1

It is an axiom of technical trading that volume preceeds big moves in the stock price...

So, does low volume imply no big price moves on the horizon ?

Or, in the case of InterOil, does this just mean that without the shorts and their algo trading (ping ponging shares back and forth to drive the price lower) we have low trading volumes.   In other words, high trading volume is just a sign of the shorts/manipulators at work !??!

4 of the last 6 trading days volume has been at least 878,000 shares.....which is above the 25 day average. I point you to late June/ early July when volume was lower than it has been recently just before a move from 70 to 90. However, we all know these technicals are meaningless when IOC finalizes a deal in the next month or two.

I understand. We all want a deal finalized. I just want to see the right deal terms. I'm confident they are working hard to get er done!

You can expect market volume for IOC and most things to lessen into Christmas and through the holidays, barring significant news. As for the shorts now, a lot of them are probably busy starting to play Santa Claus with some of the money they've stolen from shareholders, maintaining the phony front within their circle of legitimate business and integrity!
