New Discoveries in Beijing

I'm a fan of Music Radar. I always think its song identification by voice is really cool and more technical than Shaznam, though as the program mentioned out-of-tune humming won't be recognized.

Thanks for the video. Very entertaining and informative. Nice to see NQ commercializing their R&D with such positive results.

I love the fact that music radar works in china and can pick up on the various local dialects trying to speak standard mandarin. Thats not an easy feat. The people in the video for example spoke with a heavy Beijing accent, but music radar works even if your mandarin has a heavy Shanghai or hunan or whatever regional inflection. The only thing its weak on, that i noticed, is english/american songs. But pan east asia, its pretty solid on picking up songs and artists.

It seems to me that as long as the tune is right, Music Radar will work. I have tried singing some old English songs with heavy accent, e.g. Beatles, and some songs by Adele. Music Radar can correctly identify them. You guys can test some more.
