Today's Options Trades...
#1

I don't follow options as closely as I should...   Nor do I get the detail feeds, so I could have some of my 'facts' wrong.   Please correct me if I do Smile

Looks like someone bought/sold 500 June 21st, 2014 calls at $62.50 strike for $2.85  (total money about $142,500)

Also, there is a call spread of 400 calls for Jan 2015  - $75 strike and $95 strike.    Appears to be $4.00 for the $75's and $.70 for the $95's (net of $3.30 or $132,000).

I don't have any interpretation.   Since my bias is to be long, I'm guessing the buyer is bullish.    On the other hand, for every buyer there is a seller ...    'tis a mystery!!!

today there is a 70 cent spread in call pricing for June 21st at the $62.50 strike. If they paid the $2.85 you mentioned its a bullish trade . To make money Interoil needs to close at $65.35 or higher. Someone expects bullish news by June 21st.

There is not always a natural person on the other side of option trades. If there is no natural person the market maker must step in. .

Today 75,000 shares of IOC volume "traded" as a result a derivatively priced option trade @ $64.25.

That is a big percentage? That would be almost 50% of todays volume. What if we used that number in calculating "days to cover"?
