O'Neill impressed with EA project.
#1

O'Neill came, he saw, he liked very much what's going on at Elk/Ant and wants infrastructure to move ahead now rather than wait for resource projects to develop and provide funds. In other words, we will develop necessary infrastructure for this area using borrowed funds (hmmmmmm, from where?) and grow things at the same time. Good idea!!

PM impressed with project

PRIME Minister Peter O’Neill says he is impressed with the progress of the Antelope and Elk prospecting gas wells in the Gulf hinterland.
O’Neill who visited the project site last Thursday said it was about time to go into an agreement shortly.
Project developer InterOil and a major partner are expected to sign a joint agreement to develop the Gulf LNG project with all processing facilities near Kerema town.
The agreement would also look at the benefit-sharing agreement between the state, the landowners and the developer.
“We have to get the basics rights now so all agreements are done well so that the people and the state also benefit well in the project,” O’Neill said.
He said the future of the country looked promising with all the developments upcoming up around the country.
“We must get our basics right by improving and building all our infrastructures in place throughout the country than waiting for the benefits to come from the resource envelope to improve the services,” he said.
Gulf Governor Havila Kavo called on the government to ensure that benefits from the proposed LNG project were properly distributed and used to develop the  economy.

Palm & others, what do you make of this:

"O’Neill who visited the project site last Thursday said it was about time to go into an agreement shortly."

I'm assuming this means photo ops and final PA will be signed once the SD occurs quickly followed by FID..any other thoughts?

Tx,
I'd say he knows things will happen quickly and by distributing seed money in Gulf he's making it plain; coordinated development is the best way for the area to develop. Too bad Oneill didn't say the agreement signing would be happening "in the coming days"; shorts would really be nervous as that term to them means tomorrow. Now this probably is just a goal post pusher to them. Good! Let them be comfortable in their thinking.

That's ok Palm after all the lies and garbage the shorts have put us through I want the SD, PA, & FID to come like a thief in the night just when the shorts think they have won
