So the argument here is if you are not willing to buy and hold a grossly manipulated stock with no dividends until 2016-2018 to acheive reasonable valution, you are an impatient short term trader? Not sure that even Buffet holds that long and he doesn't hold IOC, that is for sure.

you hold the stock for the cash payments paid on certification which are at least 50 percent more than the current market cap and for the exploration potential which is large and unknown and for an LNG plant which advances the stock price with other LNG newbie by multiples of their current price . But alas some want more than multiples of the current price

JFT, you make all these statements as if everything is 100% slam dunked going to happen as you say.  That the certification of E/A WILL be at the high end.  That there WILL be an lng plant built, in a timely fashion, with no cost over runs, etc. That there WILL BE NO further problems with the corrupt govt.  That LNG prices WILL continue to  rise.  That we WILL hit gas in every prospect.  There are many variables that are not slam dunks as we most definitely have experienced(myself over the last 6.5 yrs).  So if some are pushing for the company to sell and would be happy to accept a buyout offer of 100/125/150 ( which I think is not going to happen), then I think you should not poo poo those wishes as crazy because they are giving up GUARANTEED riches in the future.

I find it stunning that longs continue to focus on the next positive milesone for IOC. Do they not realize that the shorts are gearing up and preparing for the next positive IOC milestone? As long as they can bomb the tape with 2-5 million naked short shares, it doesn't matter what the metrics are. The share price can continue to be destroyed whenever it is necessary. Meanwhile, the shorts sell calls to the hopeful.

Only a buyout will get rid of the shorts PERIOD. How does is make sense to have an excess of 10 billion $ in gas and a market cap less than 3 $ billion?

TA, this waterfall decline is most similar to the June 2007 drop from 44 to 17.84 in 4 days, trading 8.5, 9.2, 1.9n and 9.2 mill shares a day for the 4 days,   then licked its wounds for  about 5 weeks then started new recovery.  This marked a major low point in the price of IOC and it recovered to new highs, just like every other time.    fwiw   trans
