IOC adding legal beagle? Geoffrey David Applegate granted options

Per SEDI Geoffrey David Applegate has received 1,252 options as of January 10th and is listed as a Senior Officer.  He's been with Chambers and Partners and has worked on IOC and LNGL matters in the past.  Does this mean Mark Laurie is gone or is this an add to the company?  My guess is the former as Mark was General Counsel and Secretary.  IOC also just placed an add for Assistant Company Secretary / Legal Counsel for it's office in Singapore (http://www.linkedin.com/jobs?viewJob=&jobId=4698321&srchIndex=4); must be things are going to get busier here soon.  Interesting thing is the add says THIS person will serve as general counsel and it was just placed Friday.  Applegate received his options Jan 10th.  Why would they need all of these legal beagles?

Hopefully, at least one will be devoted to going after the criminal shorts, at least for a while. I would say few things could benefit the Company more.

Perhaps they anticipate needing more legal beagles to support an expansive exploration program involving multiple parties.
