["it is in the interest of Interoil and ourselves so that we develop that project as soon as we can"]
Quote from the same RN interview recently, so right from the horse's mouth.
Which still leads me to think the essential characteristics of the Gulf project is not in danger. There might be different partners and/or added partners, but some fast track technology like modular and/or FLNG seems on.
In fact, modular seems likely as another objection of Duma was the scale of the project. If you scrap modular then I don't see how we could reach minimum capacity (7.9T) by FLNG alone, especially if the objective is to "develop that project as soon as we can."
Fast track technology is not only warranted to "develop that projects as soon as we can", but also to avoid having to re-inject the dry gas, of course.
I have yet to encounter a single credible argument against this reasoning. It's not so much about names, but about technologies used. The ones that don't have to be constructed on site have years of development advantage, so it's hard to see some form of modular and/or FLNG not being included in the project.
