Richard Chandler just filed 13G; owns more than 5% of IOC

Agree Palm. They need other big players as partners. After all, I have felt for a good while that 4 million acres is way too much to try to hold onto, unless the consortium is VERY BIG with big players.......That's what PNG wants too. imo, way too much for IOC to do there without losing some of their licensed property.

Chandler is a mover/shaker and he has done a lot of investing in Japan, SK and China. Last summer his Mandolin Fund announced taking a 14% bite into Sino Oil and Gas Holdings Limited, a Chinese O&G player. He tends to get into companies he sees as being on the cusp of good things. That company pps has dropped since then, but primarily due to the "cooling" of the Chinese economy and they did an offering in November that diluted pps. Chandler doesnt get into companies for quick returns (good thing in a couple of instances), but he looks very LT. He must feel very good about where EWC and IOC are headed, and he may accumulate more IOC as we go along. Here is the PR on his buy-in through Mandolin of Sino O&G:
