I was concerned that mondays drop had something to do with the presentation that made me feel like the appraisal was going well. When I see the IOC, CLR, RIG, ESV and DO  PPS behaving the same way on Monday and today (except CLR). I gotta figure the odds. The Odds say that A4 appraisal work does not effect RIG's PPS action.

Well, IOC is proportionally much lower then any counterpart in the energy space from Monday until today. With a SPA from Total that guarantees a payment based on appraisal, FID or not, I would not expect that.

Spin it anyway you want, the sell off cannot be explained simply by saying it is energy related. Also, IOC volume is VERY high and way above average. 1.2 million shares as of now.

What are the odds that a company specific event happened to IOC, RIG, ESV and DO on the same day?

IOC from 42 to 34 -19% since Monday

Rig 16 to 15 -6.25% since Monday

Hence I do not see your logic

The exact same thing happened in 08 - economy collaped (now oil collapses), big holders like T Boone Pickens had to sell as they we margined (today Chandler and whoever else), which puts ridiculous pressure on the pps but has nothing to do with fundamentals.  Deja Vu, I am just trying to figure out when to place my buy as I have the stock in my cross hairs but haven't pulled the trigger yet.  But I guess that makes me a pumper, is it 2021 yet, yawn.

Amen, Hemi. These guys can't reach those kinds of conclusions based on three days of trading, especially with other oil and gas companies more directly affected by oil prices turning back up today with oil ahead of IOC, which could also be being affected by other trading factors, as you say. I pulled the trigger on some today, but I guess can reverse it if I need to.

Not high, I suppose, but has IOC really acted the same as those three stocks?  Seems like our decline was more pronounced...and is again today.
