Supreme Court decision news has been out for a week already, Value. Hasn't stopped a rather substantial run-up in the shares.

I simply could not see Shell in the announcement, but I agree with Sleuth that this process could be delayed, and the stock rise as well, until after the election UNLESS Exxon or Shell are the winners. In that event the market will conclude the deal inevitable.

As far as T2 is concerned, my guess is that Phil will tell us of a rich condensate find in the lower reservoir when all are in Grand Rapids. Wonder if the New Zealander will be there.

The stock price movement is quite independent of ACTUAL news announcements. Remember "buy the rumor, sell the news?"

RC can continue adding to his position and build it up to the rumored 18%-20% over time, effectively shrink the float, squeeze the shorts, and appreciate the stock of all longs.

There is so much speculation out there, sooner or later someone is going to hit close to the "real deal", but may not know it and nobody will be able to separate the wheat from the chaff. Given that NOBODY knew anything about the PRE deal, I'm not placing any bets on what is currently out there.

If, as I suspect, the final deal(s) are not announced before the AGM, all of us in attendance should pay very close attention to clues and read between the lines -- or, to say it another way, connect the dots.
