Somebody help me figure out where I went wrong reading this quote from an IOC press release from 24 Jan
"The InterOil Board of Directors intends to meet the Company’s advisors during the first week of March 2013 for the purpose of evaluating bids received and selecting our partner(s) for the development of the Gulf LNG Project utilising gas from the Elk and Antelope fields in Papua New Guinea."
Ok, fine it didn't get done, but as a LONG time investor (or even new) shouldn't we at least get an update from IOC?
Hose
Hose,
Refer to original post of this thread.
IOC may have seleted a preferred partner, no one knows yet. IOC did not say they would announce to the market as they select a partner. Selection and announcement could easily be a couple of months if there are contingencies and depending if all paperwork and FEEDs need completion prior to announcement.
Tree,
I thought the quote in January was pretty clear (I was wrong) but I do believe the company does OWE us an update. I have been around since less than $2, and I am going to come out just fine, I have been patient for a LONG time, I really thought things would have gotten better after we hired Wayne. They have not, IOC has never been very good at keeping us updated or hitting a dead line, some things will never change., but really am I asking to much?
Best regards,
Hose

Yes Hose, you are asking too much.
Highlighted in original post are the comments by Phil to questions from McDougall addressing when IOC will update the mkt. Only when they are legally obligated too. They will not and did not imply they will be holding hands in the selection/negotiation/final doc period.

At the AGM last year is was very clearly stated that all 3 investment banks would get a percentage whether they lost or won and the winning IB would get an additional percent. I was fairly certain the numbers were 5, 5 and 10 but memory might be failing me, maybe it was 3, 3 and 6. Regardless, use that ratios I previously listed and that is what the IB's are going to get.

Look at all the obstacles IOC has faced and now overcome and the costs of an International deal. I would think the bankers slice would be of the cash component .Example of IOC were to receive $1 Billion upfront in a sell down would those bankers deserve 20% for getting a deal done for that amount of cash upfront and signing a Super Major. ?? Of course.

I completely agree there has been a lack of communication based on what I believed Wayne would provide when he was brought on-board. There is little reason to not offset some of this negative talk, daily, with just a 'prompt' from the company saying all is in order and moving forward. ANYTHING would be better than just silence.

Refer to original post in this thread for guidance. It doesn't matter what you or I want. IOC shareholders are among the neediest shareholders in the market. Call a covering analyst or a broker that has many accounts in IOC and ask them if I'm right. The prompt you require from the company from the company has been made and it stands until further notice.

I completely agree with the lack of communication during this time period from Wayne. I thought that having Wayne would provide more than what we have seen as a spokesperson for the company. Just a 'hint' of a positive statement saying all is in order and on-going would be better than SILENCE as we continue to see the shorts continue succesfully with no comment from the company.

Tree, I agree IOC shareholders are the neediest shareholders in the market. However, we are the neediest because the shorts are always stealing our food. But that will only last a "short" time longer.
Good luck longs.

I think brokers and analysts with an interest in IOC are among the "neediest" in the market...
If they weren't, they would be recalling loans today...

Petro-The time to recall shares is the day IOC announces a deal. Not before.
