I read Yahoo daily as well as SHU. I do not think SHU should invite/permit Bonk on this board.
I agree he is more rational than most bashers, but ,in my mind, he is still a basher. There are other members of SHU that already bring opposing viewpoints.
Bonk has been around for several years and I do not recall that any of his posts have enlightened ME over the years.

jft310 thank you for the link to the Dickie Group.  I certainly see Mr. Tilson on the website but nothing about Mr. Sussman.  Where can I find this information?    Also forgive my ignorance but what is "Bostonkenmore" ? Is that a person place or company?

Tilson was a member of the group. Since he has lost 80 percent of assets under management he may have been booted. He was an advisor. Bostonkenmore was a yahoo poster who made the most preposterous comments about IOC. STP has the links to his stories. IOC had water wells. etc etc.Since the Dickie Group is Boston based its seems logical its an ID of a member of their group. Can't say for sure. Can say 100% that Tilson was an advisor to the Dickie Group. Its how Eric S was or is tied to Tilson. They work as a group to create doubt with an agenda.They establish positions then bash to make them profitable which is different than just an opinion, their bashing as a group involves financial gain. Which is collusion which is illegal.An SEC matter. No way that behavior belongs on SHU. Who wants to be part of an SEC investigation.?????

A few things are worth pointing out:

1. Nobody is proposing the proposed change of membership.
2. I have proposed Bonk for membership in the past, but there wasn't any support for that proposal I haven't pursued it further
3. The issue was brought up in a completely unrelated discussion by JFT, (in what can only be seen as an effort to discredit me). I merely responded by restating my rationale for the proposal last year (basically as a method to escape any confirmation bias some of us might have, it can be a good idea to actively seek out well stated contrarian opinions)
4. When JFT argues that Bonk is a paid basher, it's merely his opinion (to which he is entitled). He has yet to provide any corroborating evidence besides arguing that "Many think Bonk is a member of that group" kind of stuff
5. JFT might be right as I don't have conclusive evidence that Bonk isn't a paid basher, but I think it's fairly irrelevant. Basher or not, paid or not, I think arguments are more important than motivations.
6. JFT might also very well be wrong, as he does have a bit of a habit of calling people a paid basher who disagree with him. How helpful that is I'll leave for you to decide
7. Since nobody is actually proposing a Bonk membership (and he hasn't applied for one), I consider the matter closed.

I do not agree Bonk, Snake , Mr. Sussman or their other IDs should be added to SHU.  However, I agree with the spirit of STP's first point which is that we need appropriate balance in posts.  Some on SHU are constantly positive wit balance and many on YAZOOOO are constantly negative without balance.  I believe there are quite a few here with opposing views but certainly the Yea Ra Ra's outway the Hey Wait A minutes.  Just my opinion and opinions are like an anus, very one has one and most of them stink.  Take it or flush it!
