This MB has so much benefit to so many.  The issue many have is that some subgroups post opinions that contradict or question others, this is not inherently bad and in fact may be good.  But wasn't this the basis of SHU, to post opinions and ideas that  provide information for the investors of  IOC.  One does not need to drink the IOC KoolAid to be a member one just needs to hope to seek clarify. Too many we are on the same side are now in opposition for a stupid "post"or posts.  It seems we need to all recalibrate and realize the possible payout is now 4 years from now not 4 years for when we started.  The bigger problem is that in posting our distaste (myself included) we have alienated fellow supporters which in the end makes us weaker.

There is no Koolaid. That is an ignorant statement.
There is free flow of news and analysis.
No one is shouted down. That has never happened here.
SHU was founded as an exodus from YAZOO.
We founders wanted a private MB and yielded to our host to keep it public. An educational forum.
Membership was scrutinized by 3 gatekeepers and many were denied membership. Think YAZOO liars.
Those gatekeepers caught tons of grief by those which wanted 'open borders' for members.
Eventually membership has been nearly automatic to all. This has created problems.
SHU was founded as a place with rules and membership rights and responsibilities. not a support or group hug forum.

Rule #3 forbids whining and there is and has been too much of that by too few people.

Some of us, me included, have no tolerance for whining. It doesn't matter what it's labeled by those whining, if it's whining it's whining and it should not/cannot be tolerated.
Those people lash out when called out for breaking the rules designed to make SHU function.

All should re-visit and re-apply the rules to their posting.

My Friends:

We have a good thing going here at SHU, something that we need to continue to foster and grow. As such, below are the rules of the forum, designed to provide stability and a safe enviroment for posters. Failure to follow the below rules may be just reason to revoke your shareholdersunite user account with no questions asked.

Respect - All members of this board (most every human being actually) deserve to be treated with respect at all times. Personal attacks will absolutely not be tolerated.
Identities - All identities on the board are considered private and are not to be shared outside of this forum without the consent of the individual.
Whining - IOC is a long term stock investment that most definitely has risk. On top of this, there are indications that the PPS is manipulated by the short interest. As a result there will be delays, unexpected events and pps volatility. Whining about these things serves no purpose and will not be tolerated.
Disagreements - Inevitably there will be disagreements between posters. Pointing out your side of the story is very acceptable and encouraged. But it is possible that the disagreement will reach a stalemate - at which point the parties will have to agree to disagree and drop the matter.
Stick to the Facts - This forum is not intended to be for the "pumpers" or the "bashers". There will be both positive and negative events over the upcoming months and both are encouraged to be posted, discussed and dissected.
Posting on Other Boards – Once you are a member of the SHU board, your posts on other boards are, in a small way, representing this forum. Please use respect and refrain from using the “Us vs Them Mentality”.

'Together we are stronger' can only be true if we collectively follow the rules.

There are 3 other private MBs on IOC which most here are unaware of. They work well and they are slow nowadays due to the lack of 'news'. That is how SHU should be. As of now, SHU is kind of worth fighting for, but barely.

Tree, simply said, your aggressive stance is intolerant, inappropriate and surprising. To label most questioning as whining is wrong. If this is your stance and those of the elite please let me know. If you need more money to pay for the site to dilute your attitude let members know. Your arrogance and opinion that I am misguided is not only inaccurate but sad. Wirh the stock price not performing as we hoped here recently, emotions run high sometimes. My objection tree, is that what you consider whining is discussing pros and cons of all things ioc. A reasonable difference of opinion is not necessarily whining. Fwiw. My opinion. Use or flush as they say.

A Cognitive Psycologist and a Nuro-Linquistics empiricalists walk into a crowded bar.  Both have a seat next to each other and begin a conversation.  Bartender takes their orders and the evening commences.  The two begin to point a each other, exhange puzzeled and vivid expressions, with gestures of scraped arms and shoulders.  Their faces laugh and sigh, contort and relax.  During this complete time, there is no vocal exchange.   Finally the two get up, slap each other on the shoulder, toss bills on the bar for the tab and tip and leave.

A new bartender on his first night comments to the bartender who has served them before... what were those two fighting about?

The experience bartender replys...  they were not fighting at all, they were listening.

This is the biggest whine that's ever showed up on the board, and condescending and insulting to boot.  So now we have private "SHUS" because the original SHU is "barely" worth saving.  God Bless free speach.  Not only because you were allowed to share your truly feelings(disgust) but also your disdain of others to express their opions.  Censorship, or the attempt thereof, is a hallmark of great regimes.  If I'm not allowed to post again that will say it all.
