Complaints thread
#1

For getting all your complaints about management out and suggestions for improvements. HERE, IN THIS THREAD, AND IN THIS THREAD ONLY.

One immediate effect will be that it becomes clear that while there was quite a lot of volume, real actual complaints and/or suggestions for improvement are not all that many:

  • "Too infrequent communications"
  • "Not selling the company"
  • "Not resetting $/mcf expectations pre-Total deal"
  • "Management doesn't buy IOC shares"

Undoubtedly I missed a few, but not that many.

A world renound expert on "thinking" argues that you first have to inventorise (think laterally) then think about patters and/or solutions, so let's first inventorise..

What we have done so far is create an enormous volume, clogging up the board, but this consists mainly of repeat in slightly different form and most of all, and endless and rather unproductive volume of reacting against one another what this board should be about, "whining" versus "cheerleading", who has a right to post what, etc. etc. Not productive, not productive at all..

So, get it all out, gents.. For good order, actual complaints first. I will then summarize, then we'll brainstorm solutions, so we'll get it over and done with.

After the turmoil on the board the last few days, surely there are more actual substantial complaints than those listed.  Waiting....

Here's one left off the list I've heard a lot in essence: Management is letting the stock go down and not taking enough action soon enough to reverse it!

If the stock continues back up, you probably won't get much here, and the thread will fade into the distance. You may need to just bring it back up when needed again.

For the sake of clarity:

  • I'm not saying any of these individual complaints are illegitimate and/or not worthy of discussion, far from it
  • What happened is that it gotten to such a volume as to stir passions, which triggered some sort of self-reinforcing feedback loop of members tearing into one another.
  • So I don't blame any individual, apart from the gatekeeper, which happens to be me..
  • In order to prevent something similar from happening again, I:
    • Created this thread for a more productive inventory of complaints about management
    • Will be a bit more dictatorial in my interventions in order to nip emotional escalation in the bud
    • One could all help de-escalate by focusing on the company and issues, rather than on one another.

Thanks for the cooperation.
