Here's a valued perspective on IOC
#1

Stocks move in mysterious ways . Energy sector stinks . The company's fundamental value has never been greater . I'm riding the storm, fortunately my boat is not overloaded .

Use or flush

You continue to rationalize everything JFT. That's a fact. You have been wrong over and over again.

The energy sector is in bust mode and IOC is participating. But the oil bust likely won't last long, as busts go.  It's an oversupply bust, not one of those low demand busts that can drag on for years.  And there is no excess capacity of cheap oil hanging over the market.  The oversupply is from expensive shale oil in the US.  There is always an element of unpredictability about the markets, but I expect the excess supply wll fall off relatively quickly, the demand pick up some, and oil price to recover a lot by the end of the year. So riding out the storm is a prudent course of action.

Oh, OK. Did this person know we would drop 50 points since Hession took the helm? how about 40 percent in just over a month? Be trading at levels equal to April of 2009 and July of 2005 after signing a transformational deal? Please stop with your super secret iron clad contacts. They are at this point very insulting, to say the least.

jdeo, what exactly was he "rationalizing" in his 12:51 posting?

I think you are finding an excuse to do some of what is defined here as "whining", although understandable to some extent but of less than zero value. Who is insulting whom? The markets are not always right, or fair.

I think I can prove that this PPS unpleasantness is NOT IOC related!
RIG, ESV AND DO have very similar charts and this Monday is an exact match.

It is more a critique of the constant positive utterings eminating from his keyboard.  regardless of where the stock price sits, everything "couldn't be better."  There is always a post telling us the market is wrong.  That's a false representation.  He has been wrong again and again.  He is a company mouthpiece and that doesn;t help any investor in this stock, myself included.  there is no critical angle to any of JFT's posts.  It's all wonderful.  That's BS and I am sick of seeing it when the stock is down almost 40% in over one month, and that on the heels of being down 50 percent from last year's pre deal price.  The stock price matters to investors.  When will you guys realize that?

JDEO a long term holder advised me.
Here's the perspective you need to have and may have but haven't posted .
Hession deferred the dollar receipt from the sell down to Total for the shareholders to receive more money for the asset .
Interoil owned 7.1 T's per GCA and Hession was convinced that was not the right quantity of assets at E/A. He convinced Total to front the money to drill additional wells to narrow the difference between GCA and GLJ . Before he could do that he also wanted to hold onto the other lease areas which required a well to be drilled to get an extension and there was a date that had to be met to start drilling . Looking long term he saw the value in keeping the added lease area .
Didn't have the rigs or money to drill the additional wells at E/A and the lease areas at the same time .
Today we are focused on drilling the new wells at E/A which will get us paid later in 2015 . So far Ant 4 shows that GCA needs to extend their area estimate and Laurie Brown now has improved seismics which show more assets at E/A . More wells to come will hopefully prove out GLJ or more .
The other choice Hession had was close a deal without this extra prove out of assets . Accept a lower payment from Exxon or Total . He chose the larger pot of gold but with this delay to drill .
Additional Dr Hession negotiated a 30 percent interest in the LNG plant and a second future asset payment after even more wells are drilled . This is a binding contract with set payments per tranche .
You talk about the drop in price per share . The payment later this year cures that issue
Here's some homework for you JDEO
Please verify the below
WTI is down 50 percent in 6 months
BTE, PGE, ECA, SDRL, LINE all dividend payers and others are all well down more than 50 percent .
Look up OSH and see it's been crushed .
IOC has a transformational event coming later this year . An event none of the other oil and gas stocks have in their near future a payment that could easily be equal or more than the current market cap . Most think in the $2 Billion dollar area .
Total is fully committed to LNG and announced a new plant this week in Africa .
Japan wants all the LNG they can get from PNG see the Credit Suisse article this week on PNG and Japan .
Goldman states 2 events need to happen to remove the uncertainty . One a winner of the arbitration and second receive the payment later this year . They assume the lower GCA extimate and clearly state with a larger asset the payment rises as does the stock price .
So you need to wait for the pop from the asset payment and a year later the pop from FID and the pop as the plant opens . That's how to make money with Interoil .
And don't forget Antelope is not alone or they will do all of this over and over again.
