Orchestrated Pumping this weekend by someone wanting to unload
#1

Second time in two months I've seen this.  Expect a bounce back after they unload going into tomorrow.  Hopefully they miss out on an early surpise.

Hi there Ray - Some more of my "wondering" ..... Is orchestrated a little more fancy word for 'manipulated' ? With IOC stock, there seems to be an abundant amount of that going around.I don't expect much in the am to help the pps of our stock. Our guys aren't exactly "overpowering" us with "gobs" of good news. Sure hope I am surprised.

Yes, just spouted out the first word that came to mind.  Can't believe I didn't recognize it until first thing this morning when there was significant unloading.  I can't believe I fell for it again.  I was already  planning how I was going to retire early on that dividend from Exxon or Total Smile.     I bet we don't hear much tomorrow either; however, I sure would like to hear an update on the progress of the pressure testing and maybe even hear a little something on Wahoo, that would be nice too.

Short term moves are worthless.

Ray-  Retiring "early" on anything ioc does really seems far away. Inspite of my overall optimism for our quality leases, I sure wish that we didn't have 4 idle rigs right now. With a few million dollars a month going "out the door" ,and no holes being punched anywhere, things can get a little "apprhensive". As I said earlier, sure hope I am surprised !

I'm not reading this "orchestrated" move as you are. I don't think someone is unloading so fast either. We are more or less in line with xle movement. Until we have any other information that's the way it will trade. Hopefully tomorrow we can get some color on things. Likely not per hessions history.

Next you'll be saying the hype I read on yahoo has no influence over the institutional investor and the direction of the pps. (joke)

"Orchestrated pumping??" In order to unload shares? Sorry to say, but I can't take that seriously.

Seems to me you attach waaay to much significance to short-term price swings, especially one as moderate as this one. Someone apparently unloaded a bit, yes, and a bit more than others loaded at the same time, but that's all.

But if you look at most any AM trading on IOC for several weeks, there is a bit of selling. Someone trying to get lemmings to follow? Who knows, but agree; ST moves are hard to try and read anything into. They are executing a very LT plan. Doesn't lend itself to much ST analysis.

Yes, let me clarify, I didn't mean to say short-term price swings are entirely devoid of meaning (or regularities or patterns), but they're devoid of any meaning insofar relating to any message board "pumping or bashing," bar the (very) occasional exception.
