Yemen LNG Confirms Pipeline Attack

Yemen LNG confirmed the sabotage of the 38 inch gas pipeline that links the block 18 to the Balhaf terminal on the Gulf of Aden.

The explosion occurred today 35 KM North of Balhaf Liquefaction Plant. It caused no victims, the company said in a statement.

The 320km pipeline transports around 1.14 billion cubic feet/day from Block 18 in Marib province in northern Yemen to the Total-operated export terminal at Balhaf.

The Yemen LNG project has three long-term contracts to supply LNG to GDF Suez, Kogas and Total Gas & Power for a total of 6.7 Mtpa.

**********

This on top of Yemen Gov't voting to cancel the existing negotiated KOGAS LNG contracts which were less than $4/Mcf.  Doesn't sund like energy security to me.
